It contains six steps: Step 1 lead-in: (1) Teacher shows some pictures from PPT about some words which relates to common weather, and asks students whether they know them or not, and talks about them and how to work . (1)teacher introduces new words about jobs. cloudy ,rainy ,foggy, snowy,windy,sunny (2)Brain storm: let Ss describe weather in their minds Step 2 fast reading tasks: (1) make Ss read the dialogues as fast as possible with questions. 1. Whats the weather like today? 2. How is the air? 3. What does the girl hope? 4. What does the weather report say? 5. What do they think of the weather report? Dialogue 1 Boy: Its a fine day, isnt it? Girl: Yes, its so nice after the rain. Boy: The air is so fresh. Girl: I hope it is sunny all the time. Boy: But the weather report says it is going to rain tomorrow again. Girl: The weather report is not always correct. Boy: you bet. Dialogue 2 Decide true ( T ) or false ( F ). 1. There is a lot of snow. Master the jobs in daily life. Practise listening ability 2. They are going to play with the snow. 3. The snowman will wear Bills hat and gloves. 4. They are going to have a good time. Jane: Wow, its a lovely day! Bill: Yes, there is already a lot of snow on the ground. Jane: Lets go outside and build a snowman. Bill: Good idea. Im going to use coal for his eyes and a carrot for his nose. Jane: Thatll be funny. OK, Im going to give him my hat and gloves. Bill: Great! Lets go! Step 3 intensive reading tasks (1)Let Ss read the dialogue loudly, find topic sentence of each paragraph and draw the difficult sentences and the knowledge what they dont understand. (skimming and scanning skill) (2)Teacher and Ss talk about the important words, expressions and sentences together, and ask Ss to retell the content of the dialogue (summarizing and paraphrasing) (3)Teacher summarize this part. (4) Read again following the courseware. Step 4 post-reading task. Group Discussion. (1)Teacher should divide Ss into several groups to discuss the topic “What do you do? Give reasons” (2)Teacher summarizes the discussion. Step 5 sum up (1) Ask one or two students to summarize todays learning on the text. (2)The teacher summarizes what we have learnt this lesson Step 6 homework 1 Read the dialogues fluently after class, and underline the difficult points. 2 Write a dialogue about weather.
