3、t point: Help the Ss to carry out the reading strategy.Teachingstrategies:skimming,scanning,pair work and group work.,readinging for specific information and have a contest.Teaching methods:Language task methods, situation creation method and work in pairs or in groups.Teaching procedures:Step 1:Gre
4、eting with each other(1)Step 2:Lead in(2)To tell all the students what we are going to learn . In this class ,we will learn how to read a new passage usingskimming and scanning.Im sure you can do very well.teacher write down the title of this lesson on the Bb.Step 3:Before reading(7)1.The teacher sh
5、ow some colorful cards of the furnitures , ask students questions:whats this in English ?Its a bed /table /chair/bookcase/sofa .(these cards all drawn by themselves)Students practice speaking in pairs.2.Do 2a.write the words you know for the things in the picture.Ss look at the screen carefully for
6、2 minutes,then get them to write the names of the things by themselves .T ask a student to do it on the Bb ,then check the answers with them .compare who can do it the most quickly. Give the winner a small present to as an award.Step 4.While reading(12).skim the passageHave them read the passage qui
7、ckly and find out the answer of the question: “Is Kate tidy? Or Is Gina tidy? ” Guess the meaning of the new words.Get the main idea of the passage, teacher write it down .Then ask a pair of students to retell the question and answer again.(2).Scan the passageSs read carefully again to finish the ch
8、art in 2c, they should look for the two childrens things and where they are.Make all of them know the usage of language pattern and the prepsitions : where is /are the pen/ruler/books ?Underlind the key sentence on their textbook.Teacher draw a picture on the blackboard to help them to understand .T
9、eacher ask with the Ss to share the answers of 2c.Finally ,compare two girls ,ask them who we should learn from? Educate Ss to have a good living habit and put their things well no matter where they are and do the housework to help their parents more often.Analyze the text structure, attch importanc
10、e to the topic sentence(Im tidy , but Gina is not) ,understanding the relationship between topic sentence and supporting details.Step 5 After reading(10)(1)Use the pictures and objects to build a houseGet the Ss to put the pictures and objects in the different place in the box of a room on the Bb.im
11、agine this is their own room .give them the chance to design the house and show their clever mind.Students drill the structure in groups. Do the similar dialoge using “in and under”.the general questions and so on.A:my ruler is in my pencil-box.B:where is her/his ruler ?C:Its in her/his pencil-box.D
