Encourage them to check their work in order to find and correct the mistakes made because of carelessness.2 Common spelling and grammar mistakes, such as, word usage mistake, punctuation mistake, wr

Divide the students into groups of two and ask them to read and discuss the passage on P:56 for five minutes and try to find the mistakes and correct them.4. Ask several students to find and check the mistakes and the whole class to read the passage

16、at last the whole class read the passage together.Step VI:.Language points (1) My penfriend in the USA hasnt replied to my last three e-mails. A. reply(过去式:_; 现在分词:_) “回答;答复”。一般作不及物动词,跟宾语时后面要加to. Eg .I asked him where he was going but he didnt reply. Who can _ _ (回答) this question? B. reply还可以作名词,意为

17、“回答,答复”。 Eg. Thank you very much for your reply.reply 与answer区别answer 用法比较广泛,可指口说或笔写的答复,它是及物动词,可以带宾语。Reply指较正式的,经过考虑后的答复,它是不及物动词,不可以直接跟宾语。只有加上介词“to“后,才可以跟宾语。如:I called ,but no one answered it.我给他打了电话,但没有人接。Can you answer this question?你能回答这个问题吗?I sent in my application ,and the university replied im

18、mediately.我把申请书送去,那所大学立即答复了。(2) pleasure (n.) “乐趣,荣幸” ; pleased (adj.) “ 高兴,乐意” ; pleasant (adi.) “ 令人愉快,令人舒服的” Eg. -Thank you for giving me your advice.-My _.
