damageLincoln'sreputationasachampionoftherightsoftheNegro.In

1964,theWhiteCitizens*Councilsreprintedportionsofthespeechin

largeadvertisementsinthedailypressandinsistedthatLincolnshared

theirviewsonthedesirabilityofmaintainingtwodistinctworldsofrace.
