However,theoptical(光学的)crosstalkbetweenshadowscausedbyexternallightsourcesinthe

environmentandthemicro-lenshaslimitedexistinglight-fieldcamerasfrombeingabletoprovideaccurateimage

contrastand3Dreconstruction.

Theresearchteamappliedalaserinthenear-infrared(NIR)rangetostabilizetheaccuracyof3Dimage

reconstructionthatpreviouslydependedonenvironmentallight.Whenanexternallightsourceisshoneonaface

at0-,30-,and60-degreeangles,thelight-fieldcamerareduces54%oftheimagereconstructionerrors.

Additionally,byinsertingalight-absorbinglayerforvisibleandNIRwavelengthsbetweenthesetsofmicro-lens,

theteamcouldminimizeopticalcrosstalkwhileincreasingtheimagecontrastby2.1times.

Throughthistechnique,theteamcouldovercomethelimitationsofexistinglight-fieldcamerasanddevelop

amoreadvancedNIR-basedlight-fieldcamera(NIR-LFC)improvedforthe3Dimagereconstructionoffacial

expressions.UsingtheNIR-LFC,theteamacquiredhigh-quality3Dreconstructionimagesoffacialexpressions

expressingvariousemotionsregardlessofthelightingconditionsofthesurroundingenvironment.

Thefacialexpressionsintheacquired3Dimagesweredistinguishedthroughmachinelearningwithan

averageof85%accuracy-astatisticallysignificantfigurecomparedtowhen2Dimageswereused.Furthermore,

bycalculatingtheinterdependencyofdistanceinformationthatvarieswithfacialexpressionin3Dimages,the
