从句的概要

当许多观点被融合在一个句子里时,其中某些观点比另一些要更重要,这个时候,

我们用从句来表达不太重要的观点。从句包括状语从句,名词性从句或定语从句。

I.状语从句可以表达时间,地点,方式,比较,条件,原因,目的或结果。它们由

隐含这些意思的引导词来引导,如:when,where,how.cilthoiigh.if.rinee.

2名词性从句在句中充当名词的作用,可以做主语,宾语或表语。可以由that,或

疑问词(uihcit.which,uiho/e.when.houi.uihij.uihete.who)或if/uihether来弓|导。

当名词性从句作宾语的时候,th*常省略,尤其是在口语和非正式的书面语中。

如:Hlonhealhcucolorfulnightlife(oen/ure(that)novi/itori/everbored.

当我们用名词性从句来陈述问句时,句子的顺序是陈述句的语序而不是问句的语序。

如:Idonotknowwhen/hewilltravel.(AOTIdonotknoiuwhenwill/hetravel.)

5.定语从句就像形容词一它们为某物提供更多的信息。定语从句由关系代词(which,

that.who.whom,uiho/e)和关系副词(mhere.why.why)来引导。定语从句有两

种,限定性和非限定性。

I)限定性定语从句所提供的信息用来定义所修饰的物或人。在关系代词或副词之前

没有逗号。

如:「ortho/ewholoveoutdooroctivitie/,iti/po//ibletohike,/ail.

cro//-counhi|/kior(ravelforhour/-orevenday/—withoutmeetingonokherper/on.

2)关系代词可以用来替换uiho和uihich。

如:Itizgoodtolearnabouttheculture/ofpeopleuiho/thatcomefromother

counlriez.

3)如果关系代词做定语从句中的宾语时,关系代词通常被省略,在英语口语中由为

如此。

如:Themopleleafi/(hepattern(that)youcon/eeontheCcmodicinflo9.

4)非限定性定语从句用来提供额外的信息,它可以被省略而不会影响句子的语法结

构,而且要放在逗号的后面。

如:locatedintheheartofTorontoi/theCancidiannationalTomer,whichi/
