SEQCHAPTER\h\r1ShanghaiJiaoTongUniversityAntaiCollegeofEconomicsandManagementEnvironmentalEconomicsInstructor:HaitaoYinOffice:RoomB517XuhuiCampusEmail:htyinOfficeHours:ByAppointmentCoursedescription:Thiscourseexplorestheeconomicfoundationsforpublicpoliciesthatdealwithenvironmentalissuessuchaspollutioncontrol,renewableresourceutilization,nonrenewableresourceconservation,andsustainabledevelopment.Inparticular,thecourseaimstodeepenstudents’understandingofwhyresourceandenvironmentalproblemshaveoccurredfromtheeconomicpointofviewandwhatkindofpolicytools,whichareprovidedbyeconomicsandmanagementscience,shouldbeimplementedtosolvetheseproblems.Theemphasisofthiscourseisonbasicconceptsandintroductionofanalyticaltoolsforenvironmentalpolicyaswellasdevelopingresearchinenvironmentaleconomics.Asrequiredknowledge,studentsshouldbefamiliarwithmicroeconomics.RecommendedTexts:尹海涛著,《环境经济政策》,中国人民大学出版社2022年版。CourseRequirements:Studentsareexpectedtobeactiveparticipantsintheclass.Therewillbeoneexamandonegroupprojectforevaluation.Classparticipation.Theclassintegrateslecturematerialwithin-classexercisesandclassdiscussion.Iexpectstudentstoattendclassregularly,dothereading,andparticipatefullyinclassactivities.Iwilltakeattendancefromtimetotime.Thevaluationofclassparticipationdoesnotonlydependonyour“showingup”inclass,butmoreimportantlydependonthequalityofyourinvolvementindiscussion.Examination.Therewillbeonein-classexamination.Classproject.Theprojectpaperissupposedtobeaten(doublespace,tablesandfiguresexcluded,12pointfont)piecethatoffersaconcise,original,andsoundanalysisforaparticularenvironmentalissueorpolicy.Eachstudentshouldworkwith3otherfellowclassmatesontheproject.Thetimelineforgroupprojectisasfollows.GroupsshouldbeformedbeforeSept.25,2023TopicofprojectsshouldbeturnedinonOct.9,2023.ProjectreportisdueonthelastoftheWeek17.Gradeswillbecalculatedasfollows:20%
