在具体的某一时刻或者某些固定搭配中使用。如:at7:25在七点二十五分;atnoon在中午;atmidnight在午夜。(2)somethingterrible一件可怕的事情。当形容词用来修饰复合不定代词时要放在代词的后面。其中terrible是形容词,意为“可怕的,非常严重的”。其副词为terribly(极其,可怕地)。如:Howterriblethestormis!这场风暴真是太可怕了!3.JasonGlenandhisfamilylosteverythinginabighousefire.(1)lost是动词lose的过去式,意为“失去,丢失”。它通常指因为事故、不幸、过失等失去某人或者某物。lost还可作形容词,意为“丢失的;迷失的”。常用短语:loseheart灰心,失去信心;loseone'slife失去某人的生命;loseweight减肥;belostin陷入……,被……吸引住;be/getlost=loseone'sway/loseoneself迷路。如:Whendidyouloseyourpen?你什么时候把你的钢笔弄丢的?(2)fire是名词,意为“火,火灾”。当其表示“火灾”时,是可数名词;表示“火”时,是不可数名词。常用短语:beonfire着火(表状态);catchfire着火(表动作);playwithfire玩火;startafire引起火灾,生火;putoutfire灭火。如:It'sdangeroustoplaywithfire.玩火很危险。4.Jason,don'tbeafraid.don'tbeafraid是一个否定祈使句。它是在以动词原形开头的肯定祈使句前面加上don't构成。有时为了表示礼貌,可以在句首或者句末加上please。如:Comein.进来。→Don'tcomein.别进来。其他否定祈使句结构:No+名词/动名词!如:Noparking!禁止停车!Letsbdosth!如:Let'sgoshopping!我们去购物吧!5.Sotheycameupwithaplan.comeupwith想出,提出(主意、办法、想法等),相当于thinkup。如:It'sdifficultforthemtocomeupwithanewwayinsuchashorttime.他们很难在这么短的时间内想出新的办法。【学以致用】

Idon’tknowwhattodo.Canyou________(想出)agoodidea?comeupwith/thinkup6.Theschoolhadacarwashandacookiesale.(1)hadacarwash意为“洗车”。这里的car作定语修饰名词wash。当名词作定语修饰名词时,主要用来表示材料、类别、用途等。作定语的名词多用单数,但是特殊情况下要用复数,如sports、clothes等。如:Asportsmeetisholdinginourschool.我校正在举办校运会。(2)sale是名词,意为“出售,销售”。其动词为sell(卖)。常用短语:onsale出售,廉价出售;forsale出售,待售;abigsale大甩卖。如:Thiskindofscarfisnotforsale.这种围巾不出售。7.Injustthreedays,theschoolraised

$1200.raise是动词,意为“筹集,募集;举起(相当于lift),提高,抬手;养育,种植;建立(相当于setup)”。常用短语:raisemoney筹钱。如:Theyareraisingmoneyforthestudentsinpoorareas.他们正在为贫困地区的学生筹钱。Hetrieshisbesttoraisehisbigfamily.他尽最大的努力养活他一大家子人。8.Therearemanywaystohelpothers.waystohelpothers帮助别人的方式。其中动词不定式作定语,修饰前面的名词ways。当动词不定式作定语修饰名词时,要放在被修饰词的后面。如:Gosh!Ihavetoomuchhomeworktodo.天啊!我有太多作业要做了。9.Donate—collectandgiveawaythingslikesclothes,food,toys,books,etc.giveaway是动副型短语,意为“赠送,分发”。当代词作其宾语时,要放在give与away之间。如:Youcangiveawayyourclothestothecharity.你可以把你的衣服捐给慈善机构。1.Thethingsaregetting______(糟糕).Whatshouldwedo?2.Astrangething________
