Perhapshebeganbyimitatinganimals.
Perhapsheimitatedsoundsheheardallaroundhim:watersplashing,beeshumming,astonefallingtotheground.

Thisiswhatwemeanbylanguage.
Thewordsweknowarecalledourvocabulary.
Weshouldtrytomakeourvocabularybigger.
Weshouldreadasmanybooksaswecan.
ThereareplentyofbookswritteninEnglishforustoread.
Ofcourse,therearenewwordsinthem.
Whenwefindanewword,wecanlookitupinourdictionary.
Ourdictionaryisourmostusefulbook.

我们能够彼此供给消息,能够报告别人我们的想法,或我们的感受。用文字记录,我们可以记居处发生的事情,或者传送信息给远方的人。这是动物所不成能做到的。
有些鸟,像鹦鹉,能够教会说话,但它们不知道那些话的意思。
它们不会使用那些话。
没有人知道人类如何学会造字。
可能人类藉由模仿动物而开头的。
可能他模仿他周边所听到的一切的声音:水的飞溅声、蜜蜂的嗡嗡声、石头的落地声。

Theyaresoldathighprices.
Othersaremuchsimplerandcheaper.
Somehavetobepluggedintoanelectricaloutlet.
Othersarepoweredbybatteries.
Difficultproblemsusedtotakehoursofworkwithpencilandpaper.
Nowtheyaresolvedinseconds.
Althoughtheyareagreathelp,somepeopleworryaboutthem.
Theyareafraidthatstudentswilldependonthem.
Thentheywillneverlearnhowtosolvemathematicsproblemswithoutthem.
Whatarethey?
Imagesaretransmittedfromoneplace.
Theytravelthroughtheairforlongdistances.
Thentheyarereceivedbythismachine.
Theimagesareprojectedonasmallscreen.
Inthe1950s,thesemachineswereownedbyonlyafewpeople.
Today,itseems,everybodyownsone.
Whatisit?
Thebasicdesignofthismachinehasnotchangedinthousandsofyears.Itcomesinvarioussizesandcolors.
Withreasonablecareitwillrunfor70or80years.
Itwalks,talks,thinks,andinvents.

Apopuloussayinggoeslikethis:Clothesmaketheman.Inotherwords,clothesshowage,outlook,statusandincome.However,clotheslookgreatonprofessionalmodelsmaylookterribleontheaveragebuyer.Nowadayssomestudentsliketogoafterfashion.Theyaregeneroustobuyiftheyfindsomeattractiveorsexyclothes.Inmyopinions,beautifulclothesdon’thelpphysically.Expensiveclothesonlymakethepeoplebeproudofthebelongingtoahighstatusgroup.Inessence,webuyanimageofsuccessinsteadofperfectclothing.Therefore,clotheshelppeopletobuildapublicimage.Butinmostcases,publicimageisnotreliable.Asstudents,weshouldnotalwaysfollowthefashion,whichmayleadustothewrongway.
Todayalargenumberofstudentstendtocheatintheexams.Somecopytheanswersfromtheirbooks,sometalkwitheachothertosharetherightanswers.Besides,somestudentswritedowntheinformationonthepalmsofhandsandarms.Thereareseveralreasonsleadingtocheatintheexams.Firstly,somestudentsjustplaytimeawayandwanttogethighscoreswithoutefforts.Secondly,someareundergreatpressureandtheyfeartofailtheexams.Finally,somestudentsareafraidoffallingbehindothersintheexams.Oncethestudentsarefoundorcaughtcheating,theteachersshouldpunishthemseverelyandexplaintheharmofcheatingtothem.Therearetwowaystoeliminatecheating.Ontheonehand,teachersshouldteachthestudentstobehonest;Ontheotherhand,strictmeasuresshouldbetakenagainstcheating.Asaresult,thefairplayintheexamscanbeachievedandstudentscanputmoreinstudyandforgetaboutcheating.

Nowadaysmoreandmorecollegegraduatesdecidetopursuepostgraduatestudy.Therearesomereasonsforthisphenomenon.First,collegegraduateshavetofaceatightjobmarket,whichisfullofcompetitionbecauseahugenumberofgraduateswillgojob-hunting.Confrontedwithtoughjob-seeking,moreandmorecollegegraduatesturntofurthereducationforabetterfuture.Inaddition,therearealsoanumberofstudentswhoreallywanttocontinuetheirstudyatgraduateschooltodeepentheknowledgeinaparticularfield.Whatisthenextstepforthosecollegegraduates?Inmyopinion,receivingfurthereducationisagoodsolutionforthosecollegegraduates.Butitisstilluptothosegraduateswhohaveagoodknowledgeofthemselvestomakeafinalchoice.

Iron-womenarethosewhoareintelligentandenjoyworking.Mostofthemhavegotahighpayandasuccessfulcareer.Iftheyaremarried,theymaychoosenottohavekids.Inmen’seyes,iron-womenaretheirenemies,nottheircompanionssincetheyposeathreattothemaleworld.Iron-womenaremorelikelytokeepsinglebecausetheyhavenomakesofatraditionalgoodwife,thusneverpopularwithmen.Additionally,iron-womenarenotunderstoodbythefemalefriends.Intheirpointsofview,iron-womenhavelosttheirnatureandcannotbeconsideredaswomeninthetruesense.Inotherwords,iron-womenrepresentabigshameforthefemaleworld.Inmyeyes,iron-womenarestilllovelyandgoodladies.Tobecleverandsuccessfulisneverafault.Theycanplaytheroleswonderfulasadaughter,awifeandamotheriftheyhavethechancetoplay.Whattheyneedmostisneitheradmirationnorjealousybutourunderstanding.
