Many other studies show that mindsets can be changed, and a growth mindset is the key factor that determines whether children can make good grades at school or not.Parents can have a huge impact on childrens mindsets. When children succeed, they
25、 may praise their intelligence or talent (“Youre so smart” or “Youre such a good gymnast”), but this type of praise leads to a fixed mindset. It sends the message that performance is due to ability (or lack of ability). Instead, they should praise childrens hard work, good learning strategies and pe
26、rseverance (坚持不懈), etc.More importantly, to develop a growth mindset in children, parents should have one themselves. When talking about others success, they should talk about the hard work and strategies needed to achieve success (“He must have trained for hours every single day”). Meanwhile, they
27、should talk to children about the mistakes theyve made and what theyve learned from them, and then teach them that failure is nothing to be afraid of.Every time people learn something new, the brain changes by forming new neural connections.
