1、Module3 Sandstorms in Asia说课(Introduction,Reading&Vocabulary)一、Analysis of teaching material nlssThe content of this course is selected from the third and third compulsory module of Senior English Foreign Studies Institute.This course takes Sandstorms as the topic, introduces the occurrence of sands
2、torms in Asia, especially in China, and introduces vocabulary related to sandstorms and environmental protection. The purpose of this course is to develop studentslanguage ability, understand environmental protection knowledge and cultivate their awareness of environmental protection.二、Analysis of L
3、earning SituationThe students in this class have a poor English foundation, but they are serious and enthusiastic about learning. Some students have the ability to get detailed information in reading, while a few students can express their views confidently in English. However, most of the students
4、lack the ability to understand and integrate knowledge, logical reasoning, analysis and argumentation, and critical evaluation. In the previous module, students have mastered some words and sentences about natural disasters, so students with good expressive ability can simply describe the basic situ
5、ation of sandstorms in English.三、Teaching goals1.Enable the students to get the main idea of the text , sorte out the structure of the article, and analyze the causes,effects and preventive measures of sandstorms.2.Learn to analyze and deeply understand the text from different perspectives through r
6、eading circle activities, based on autonomous learning and group cooperative learning, further combing and integrating the text information .3.Based on the text and video materials, this paper discusses how to protect the environment, strengthen studentsknowledge of environmental protection, and cul
7、tivate their awareness of environmental protection.四、Teaching important and difficult pointsEnable the students to get the main idea of the text , sorte out the structure of the article, and analyze the causes,effects and preventive measures of sandstorms.Learn to analyze and deeply understand the t

9、 work.六、Teaching procedures & waysStepI Lead-in Ss are asked to watch a Science fiction about sandstorm called Doomsday.Then discuss What effects a sandstorm have on peoples life.(设计意图:利用视频,创设语境,导入本节课的话题“ sandstorm ”,激活学生背景知识并引出学生问题。)Step2 Per-readingSs are encouraged to Work on activity 1and kown O
10、ne of the witness describes the sandstorm and discuss What should do in a sandstorm to protect themselves.(设计意图:提取有关“ sandstorm ”的基本事实性信息,形成阅读期待。)Step3 While-reading Fast readingSs are encouraged to go through the passage and tell the structure of the passage.Careful-readingAfter knowing the structu
11、re of the passage, Ss are asked to read the passage as quickly as possible and tell the definition,cause,effects, preventive measures of sandstorms.Kown Where sandstorms often occur and Rens experience . After a while, the teacher checks their answers.Ss are encouraged to retell the harms of sandsto
