1、强化语境意识 提高完形能力 After a quick breakfast in the station restaurant, Peter set off to look for a room where he could live for the next few months. He knew exactly what he wanted :a room which was not too small, nor so large that it would be difficult to heat in winter. It had to be clean and comfortable

2、 too but, above all, it had to be quiet .In the newspaper he had bought from the bookshop ,there were very few advertisements for rooms to let. But ,as he glanced down the page, a notice caught his eye. Reading is very important to help you learn English . To learn as much as you can from reading ,y

3、ou need to read different kinds of English. This book provides not only different kinds of English but also a good way to check your reading ability. My words! He was reading my words _1_to the whole class. _2_laughed, then the whole class was laughing with open-hearted enjoyment . I did my best not

7、hing far less pleasant, like being called in by your boss to explain why you did this and did that , and why you did not do this or that . Terrible music, indeed, but it has to be faced. At some time or another, every one of us has had to “face the music”, especially as children. We can remember fat

8、hers angry voice: “I want to talk to you!” And only because we did not obey him. What an unpleasant business it was ! When someone says, “well, Ill have to face the music.” it doesnt mean _1_ is planning to go to a _2_. It is something far less pleasant, like _3_ by your boss to explain why you did

It was one of those wild-looking young man , with 4 glasses and torn clothes, and hair coloured bright red at the front. What 5 me was hed started to eat my chocolate! Naturally I was ann

12、oyed. However, to avoid trouble I just 6 down at the front page of the newspaper and took a bit of chocolate. The boy looked at me closely. Then he took another piece of my chocolate. I could hardly 7 it. Still I didnt want to start an argument. When he took a 8 piece, I felt more 9 than annoyed. I

13、thought I should have the last piece. And I 10 it. My husband hasnt stopped laughing about the thing that happened to me. Its 1 now but it wasnt at that time.
