2、ity study is defined as an evaluation or analysis of the potential impact of a proposed project or program. A feasibility study is conducted to assist decision-makers in determining whether or not to implement a particular project or program. The feasibility study is based on extensive research on b

3、oth the current practices and the proposed project/program and its impact on the relevant fields. The feasibility study will contain extensive data related to financial and operational impact and will include advantages and disadvantages of both the current situation and the proposed plan. The feasi

4、bility study is conducted to assist the decision-makers in making the decision that will be in the best interest of the (eg. school foodservice) operation. The extensive research, conducted in a non-biased manner, will provide data upon which to base a decision.What is a feasibility report A report

5、that is developed as a result of a feasibility study, and is presented to senior management to determine whether the project has sufficient merit to continue into more detailed phases. This type studies a situation (for example, a problem or opportunity) and a plan for doing something about it and t

6、hen determines whether that plan is feasible-which means determining whether it is technologically possible and whether it is practical (in terms of current technology, economics, social needs, and so on). The feasibility report answers the question Should we implement Plan X? by stating yes, no, bu

7、t more often maybe. Not only does it give a recommendation, it also provides the data and the reasoning behind that recommendation. 19、ur institutional affiliation (a school, department or institute at DMU), and the organization the report is written for. Include a table of contents that lists headings and subheadings exactly as they are found in the report body; Include a list of tables and a list of figures/illustrations. Include

20、 a one-page executive summary that clearly states the problem you are addressing, summarizes the solution(s) you are proposing, summarizes the plan you wish to replace (if you are replacing a current plan), and summarizes the evidence that supports your solution(s). Be sure to number the pages in th

21、e front matter using Roman numerals. Center the number in the footer. Do not number the title page. Report Body Format Each page of the body of your report should have a header. The header should contain an abbreviated title for the report, your last name, and an Arabic page number flush right. Indi

22、cate the organization within your report by using headings and subheadings. Make sure that headings at the same level are written in parallel form. Also, make sure that headings at the same level are consistently placed on the page (i.e., centered, flush left, indented, etc.). If you use underlining

23、, italics, or boldface to indicate heading level, make sure you use it consistently. Report Body Content The body of your report will run 8 to 10 double-spaced pages, depending upon your project. You will need at least six sources for your report. When citing sources, use a citation style that is ap

24、propriate for your field (e.g., APA, CBE, etc.). Organize the body content as follows: 1.Describe the problem you are fixing with your advocated plan.2.Describe the advocated plan in sufficient detail that a reader will have a good grasp of what you are proposing. Introduce current knowledge about t

25、he plan you are advocating. Has it worked elsewhere? How has it been implemented?3.Discuss your method of analysis. How did you test the feasibility of your proposal?4.Provide your feasibility criteria. That is, how did you decide if the proposal was feasible? Be sure to discuss technological feasib

26、ility, economic practicality, social desirability, and ecological soundness.5.Discuss the conclusions you have drawn from your feasibility analysis. Will the plan work?6.Make recommendations based on your conclusions. Throughout the body of your report, try to avoid jargon and technical terms. If yo

27、u cant avoid them, provide a glossary (see below). Be sure to describe all your criteria, variables, etc. carefully. If appropriate, use graphics and tables to supplement your text. Back Matter You should have a page titled references, in which you will list the articles and books you have cited in your report. These references should be in a style appropriate to your field. You should provide an appendix containing detailed discussions of all criteria used in judging feasibility and
