、举例:she wiped another one. the match was on fire and there was a light. the light fell on the wall, where it suddenly became as transparent as gauze, and she could see the room all the time. the table was covered with snow-white tablecloths, delicate plates and bowls, and the roast goose filled with

、apples and plums was smelling.even better, the goose jumped off the plate, with knives and forks on its back, and swayed across the floor, all the way to the poor little girl then the match went out again, and there was only a thick and cold wall in front of her.

1. in his imagination, he

、 pictured what would happen next if he was kit kane.kit stood up and pulled wicks out of his seat by his jacket."why doncha pick on someone your own size, dogsbreath?' he drawled."d-d-don 7 hurt me,' stammered wicks.点评:danny被人欺负后,幻想自己是书中的主句kit会怎么猛揍wickso2. he began to imagine himse

、lf in the part of bugsy. he'd borrow his dad's old suit and wear a hat pulled down over one eye. he'd chew gum and talk in his kit kane accent. 3. danny felt scared but also reckless. it was as if the potion had released a cork inside him.

、it was as if.4. he walked away feeling two metres tall he had spoken to laura mills. after a whole year, he'd finally spoken to her. and she hadn't laughed at him; she'd talked back. 5. danny was next but one to read. he fingered the potion nervously.

、 the bottle felt hot and sticky. 6. danny tried to think about the words. but they seemed to swim around like tadpoles on the page. without the personality potion, he knew he couldn't do it. he couldn't even speak. his throat was dry and his face was burning up.

比如以项链为例,文中有这样一段话:but sometimes, when her husband was at the office, she sat down

、near the window and she thought of that gay evening of long ago, of that ball where she had been so beautiful and so admired.what would have happened if she had not lost that necklace?who knows? who knows?how strange and changeful is life ! how small a thing is needed to make or ruin us !

1. danny didn't know why he'd said that. he just felt angry insid

、e. angry with wicks. angry with himself for looking stupid in front of everyone else.2. it was a great idea. but it wouldn't work, mainly because he knew he hadn't the nerve to try for the part. the thought of standing up in front of everyone made him feel sick inside.3. there was no doubt s

、omething had happened to him. his head didn't droop and his eyes were brighter than usual. he didn't even feel worried about the day ahead at school.4. danny didn't have any time to think. quickly, he fumbled for the personality potion and took a drink. if it really worked, he desperatel

、y needed it now.

1. danny thought about it all week. what could uncle hal do to help him get the part of bugsy malone?2. he was wondering whether he looked different to other people. the personality potion was in his pocket just in case he needed it again.3. he looked over at laura mills. co

、uld she see any change in him?4. 'do i seem different to you?' he asked sparrow suddenly.5. danny watched him go. it was incredible. he had stood up to wicks and survived. the potion really worked. it changed him into a different person, someone who could do or say anything.6. even worse, he

、'd said he was going for the main part. the part of bugsy. how could his mouth have landed him in so much trouble?7. the last person before danny was wicks. he thought he was just the person to play a gangster. 8. danny's gaze shifted to laura mills. she was glaring at wicks. then

、she looked straight at him and nodded. "go on!' she mouthed. danny was amazed. why should she care that he was making an idiot of himself? he shut his eyes. he tried to think how kit kane would have read the part. then he took a deep breath and started to read.9. he was amazed at the words

、he'd just spoken. it must have been the potion speaking. 1. uncle hal raised one eyebrow. 'so what's so bad about this play?'2. "personality potion?' dan

、ny's eyes widened. 'what's that?'3. 'you mean this can help me get the part in the play?'danny went out into the bright morning light, holding the personality potion tight in his hand.4. wicks stared round at them, his face as red as ketchup.5. danny took the bottle and looke

、d at it in wonder.6. danny looked down in horror at the green puddle by his feet.7. danny went off in a daze to clear up the broken glass.8. uncle hal looked blank for a moment. then his face lit up.9. he looked at uncle hal who was grinning like a cat thaf s got the cream.10. danny stared at the bo

、ttles in disbelief. 'you mean it was all a trick? there wasn't really a personality potion?'11. 动作链:he took off the lid and sniffed it. then he took a small sip. the taste was sweet and bitter at the same time. danny drank some more and let it slip down his throat.12. jumping out of bed,

、 he ran to look in the bathroom mirror.

、。one saturday morning when susan went, as usual, to thompson's hotel, to receive the price of her mother's washing for the guests, which amounted to five dollars, she found the hotel keeper in the yard.he was apparently in a bad temper with some dealers with whom he had been bargaining. he h

、eld in his hand an open wallet, full of bills. hardly noticing the child as she made her request, except to swear(骂咧咧)at her for troubling him when he was busy, he handed her a bank note.glad to escape so easily, susan rushed out of the gate, and then, pausing to pin the money safely in the folds of

、 her worn scarf, she discovered that he had given her two bills instead of one. she looked around. nobody was near to share her discovery, and her first impulse was joy at the unexpected prize.“it is mine, all mine/1 she murmured. "i will buy mother a new coat with it, and she can give her old

、one to sister mary, and then mary can go to the sunday school with me next winter. i wonder if it will buy a pair of shoes for brother tom, too.”at that moment she realized that the hotel keeper must have given it to her by mistake, and therefore she had no right to it, as she was always told by her

、 mother the golden rule- what belongs to you is yours, and what doesn't belong to you should not be accepted.but again the voice of temptation whispered "he gave it, and how do you know that he did not intend to make you a present of it? keep it; he will never know it, even if it should be

、a mistake; he had too many such bills in that great wallet, so it doesn't matter if missing one.”while this conflict was going on in her mind between good and evil, she was hurrying homeward as fast as possibleparagraph 1 yet, before she came in sight of her home, she stopped.paragraph? the hote

、l keeper looked at susan. 范文yet, before she came in sight of her hom
