中文摘要 衔接是语篇的重要组成部分之一，它是实现语篇连贯性的重要手段。衔 接可分为语法衔接和词汇衔接，语法衔接靠语法手段来实现，而词汇衔接 则通过词汇的选择来实现。词汇衔接是实现语篇连贯的多种机制中最重要 的一种。词汇衔接手段的运用与语篇构建的质量有直接的关系。就这两者 的关系问题国内外学者做过一些研究，然而这些研究大多是思维性的，缺 乏足够的实证依据，尤其是对非英语专业的学生英语作文质量与词汇衔接 手段的关系更是缺少实证研究。本文主要研究了词汇衔接手段与作文质量 之问的关系，并从定量的角度考察了非英语专业学生英语作文中词汇衔接 手段的使用情况，具体的研究问题如下： 1 ) 优劣作文使用词汇衔接手段在质与量上有哪些差异? 2 ) 词汇衔接手段的使用情况与作文质量存在何种关系? 本文共分六章。第一章指出了词汇衔接手段在语篇构建中的重要性，分 析了目前国内英语写作教学中存在的突出问题，简要地介缨和评述了以往 的相关研究，继而提出了本研究的目的和意义。 第二章主要介绍了相关的理论，确定了本研究所考察的词汇衔接手段 模式。即按h a l l i d a y h a s a n 的分类法，确定了原词重复( 简单重复，复 杂重复) ，同义词，反义词，上义词，同现关系词，词汇衔接链中的链总数， 平均链长及链中的类符值等9 个相关变量，并对各个变量逐一进行了说明。 第三章详细描述了本研究的方法和过程。本次研究的样本取自培养重 点不同的三所i l l 东省高校：山东师范大学( 以师范类为主的大学) ，i 东科 技火学( 以理工科为主的大学) ，潍坊学院( 综合类大学) ) 共1 3 5 名非英 语专业二年级学生按四级考试的规定完成的作文。随机j 1 i i 取了5 0 篇低分作 文( 5 - 8 分) ，5 0 篇高分作文( 1 卜1 5 分) 作为本次研究所使用的两组样本。 作文的评估与其中词汇衔接手段的分析由4 位大学英语教师共同完成，以 获取每篇作文中词汇衔接手段的相关信息和数据。然后借助社科统计软件 包s p s s ( 1 2 0 版本) 对两组样本所使用的词汇衔接手段进行独立样本t 榆 验，以分析优劣两组作文在词汇衔接手段使用上存在哪些差异：进行线性相 关分析，以分析词汇衔接手段与作文质量的相关性如何。 第四章对所得数据进行了定性和定量的分析讨论，得出以下结沦：词 汇衔接手段与作文质量存在着本质的相关性。优劣作文在复杂重复，同义 词，反义词，同现关系词，词汇衔接链中链总数及链中的类符值方丽差异 较明显，同时它们与作文质量的关系也更为密切，并能在一定程度上预测 作文的质量，是作文质量的重要构成因素。而简单重复，上义词及平均链 长在优劣作文中的差异并不显著，且与作文质量无明显的联系。 第五章基于前文的研究结果并结合中国英语写作教学的实际情况，提 m 了本研究在理论和实践上的指导意义，指出了英语写, f i ：教学的发展方向。 第六章总结了前五章的内容，- r - i t b ,
