B) The professor will not listen to any excuse if you dont show up in the class. C) Sometimes you can have a good excuse for being absent from the class. D) The professor will never accuse anyone. Professor Daniel allows no excuse for being absent from the class. 二、部分否定 试比较 Nobody agrees to it. (完全否定） Hardly anybody agrees to it.(部分否定, 否定一大部分） Not many people agree to it. (部分否定 ，否定一部分） 1. 部分否定的否定词有： Seldom, hardly, barely, little, few等 Graff hopes you will do that. You are expected by Graff to do that. Its difficult for graphs to be used by you. Graff doesnt think youll do that. Graff can hardly expect you to do that. 2. 用 not + 名词或表示全体意义的 代词 或副词 当与always, entirely 以及all, both, every等词连用时， 表示“不全”等意 思。 W: Nowadays, I find TV very boring and I dont even bother to turn it on. M: But, not all programs are like what you said, I suppose. Q: What can we know from the mans response? All TV programs are boring indeed. Some of the TV programs are worth watching. He never watches TV himself. He loves to watch TV. 三、双重否定 双重否定表示肯定含义 I couldnt live on after the earthquake because of the rival. I could survive the earthquake without your arrival in time. I would die if you hadnt arrived in time. I could survive the earthquake with your arrival in time. I couldnt survive the earthquake without your arrival in time. 四、强意否定 用倒装语序 A) He does want to smoke at home. B) He smoked at home only for once. C) He never smokes at home. D) I have seen him smoke at home not for once. Not once have I seen him smoke at home. 2. 用加强否定语气的词或词组 The speech was rather interesting. The speech was lasted for only an hour because it was very boring. The biologists speech was not gone to all audience because it was boring. The biologist deliberately made his speech boring at all. (2) nobut结构 There is no one but knows the matter. 此事无人不知。 It never rains but pours. 不下则已，下则倾盆。 （3） cant but 或者cant help but结构 He couldnt but cry. (4) not/never/nountil结构 I didnt realize the seriousness of the matter until the problem arose. (5) not+ 含否定意义词缀的词 It is not impossible that we can budget to spend the New Year in European countries. 表示强意否定的方式 在否定词前加 definitely/certain
