►In2024,PrimeMinisterMr.NarendraModiinaugurates52tourismsectorprojectsvaluedatoverRs.1400crore(US$168.5million)undertheSwadeshDarshanandPRASHADScheme.

Atleast50destinationswillbeselectedanddevelopedasacompletepackageoftourism,announcedbytheUnionMinisterforFinance&CorporateAffairsMs.NirmalaSitharaman.Thesedestinationswillbeselectedthroughchallengemodeusinganintegratedandinnovativeapproachwhilethefocusofdevelopmentoftourismwouldbeondomesticaswellasforeigntourists.

TheUnionbudgetfor2024placessignificantemphasisonpromotingdomestictourism.FinanceMinister,Ms.NirmalaSitharamanannouncedplanstoprovideinterest-freeloanstostatesaimedatenhancingtourismwithintheirrespectiveregions.

In2023,Governmenturgedstatestoestablisha“UnityMall”intheirstatecapitalorthebusiesttouristattractiontopromoteandsell“OneDistrict,OneProduct”,GIitemsandotherhandicraftitems.

IndianRailwaystointroduceBharatGauravDeluxeACTouristTrainunder‘EkBharatShresthaBharat’SchemethatisinlinewiththeGovernmentofIndiainitiative“DekhoApnaDesh”topromotedomestictourism.

In2020,theSAATHIinitiativewiththeQualityCouncilofIndiawaslaunchedtoassistthehospitalityindustrytoensuresafetyandhygienefortouristsandtheworkforce.

ThisinitiativeisalignedwithAatmanirbharBharattosensitizetheindustryontheCOVIDregulations,andtheGovernmentannouncedAatmanirbharBharatPackagevidewhichRs.3lakhcrore(US$36billion)collateral-freeautomaticloanhasbeenmadeavailableforMSMEs.Theloanwillhaveafour-yeartenureanda12-monthmoratorium.
