在复合句中,用作状语的从句叫作状语从句。状语从句由从属连词引导,从属连词不充当句子成分,只起连接作用。根据状语从句表达的意思可分为时间、原因、条件、目的、结果和让步等类型。本单元主要学习until、although和sothat引导的状语从句。二、until、although和sothat引导的状语从句1.until引导的时间状语从句(1)主句是肯定句时,其谓语用延续性动词,强调主句的动作或状态一

直持续到从句的动作发生时为止,表示“直到……为止”。e.g.Ihavetostayhereuntiltherainstops.我不得不待在这儿,直到雨停。(2)主句是否定句时,其谓语用非延续性动词,强调主句的动作在从句

的动作发生之后才开始,表示“直到……才……”。e.g.Cathydidn’tgohomeuntiltherainstopped.直到雨停了,凯茜才回家。拓展引导时间状语从句的从属连词还有when、as、while、since、assoonas等。如果主句用一般将来时,时间状语从句则用一般现在时表示将来,即“主将从现”。e.g.HewillcallmebackwhenhearrivesinLondon.当他到达伦敦时,他将给我回电话。二、until、although和sothat引导的状语从句1.until引导的时间状语从句二、until、although和sothat引导的状语从句2.although引导的让步状语从句

although引导的让步状语从句一般翻译为“尽管……”或“即使……”。一般情况下,although可与though互换使用,但两者都不能与but同时出现在一个句子中,但可以与yet/still同时出现。e.g.Althoughshe’sveryweak,sheworksveryhard.她尽管身体很弱,但是工作很努力。
