controversialissueathomeandabroad.InsomenorthernEuropeancountries

itislegalized.Nowithasbecomeahottopicagaininourcountrybecausean

incurablepatientwantedthedoctorstoimplementeuthanasiaonhimbutthey

hadtorefusetodososinceitwasforbiddenbylaw.Somepeoplethinkthat

euthanasiashouldbelegalizedandputintopractice.Insodoingitwillbenefit

allpeopleinvolved.Firstitcanlessenthepainofthedyingpatientwhosuffers

terriblyfromtheincurabledisease.Seconditwillalsoreducethegreat

financialpressureonthelivingbecauseagreatdealofmoneyhastobespent

inprolongingthelifeofthedying.Ontheotherhandothersbelievethat

euthanasiashouldnotbelegalizedandperformed.Itisgenerally

thentherisinglinehasgraduallyplateauedyearbyyearwithamodestriseof

somestudentshesitatetoapplyforthetest.Anotherfactoristhepressurefrom

theincreasinglycompetitivejobmarket.Manystudentsusedtobelievethat

experiences.Inmyopinionbeforewemakethechoiceweneedtothinktwice.

experienceortheoreticalknowledge?CanthegraduateprogramofferwhatI

wanttolearn?Ourfinaldecisionshouldbebasedonourpersonal

situations.Post-graduateCrazeCoolsOffThepost-graduatecrazehaslong

sincebeenahotissueonmostcampusesaroundthecountry.Accordingtothe

statisticsreleasedbyShanghaiEducationalTestInstitute,79,299studentsin

Shanghaisatinforthepost-graduateentranceexamsin2003,adramaticrise

of32.6%overthepreviousyear.Theyearof2003isthetenthyearsincethe

numberofpost-graduatetesttakersbegantogrowrapidlyandsteadily.

However,sincethen,therisinglinehasgraduallyplateauedyearbyyear,with

amodestriseof6.7%,1.8%,2.1%respectivelyin2004,2005,2006.In2007,

thenumberoftesttakersevendroppedby6.5%incomparisonwith2006.All

thesestatisticspointtoaninterestingphenomenon-thepost-graduatetest,

afteraten-yearcraze,isstartingtocooloff.Threemajorfactorsaccountfor

thecoolingoffofthepost-graduatecraze.Oneisthepost-graduateeducation

reform.Post-graduatestudentsusedtoenjoyamodestgovernmentsubsidy

fortheirthree-yearstudies.Butaccordingtothenewgraduateprogram,they

havetopayforalltheirlivingandlearningexpenses.Facedwiththerising

educationcosts,somestudentshesitatetoapplyforthetest.Anotherfactoris

thepressurefromtheincreasinglycompetitivejobmarket.Manystudents

usedtobelievethatthemoreeducationtheyreceived,thebetterjob

opportunitiestheywouldhave.Withtheexpandedenrollmentforboth

undergraduatesandpost-graduates,jobhuntbecomesmoreandmoredifficult.

Manystudentsfearthatwhentheyfinishtheirpost-graduatestudies,the

positionswillhavebeenalreadyoccupied.Moreover,manycompaniesprefer

experiencedemployeestonewgraduateswhotendtoknownothingbut

impracticalbookknowledge.Asaresult,somestudentsdecidetostartwork

earlysoastoaccumulatemoreworkexperiences.Inmyopinion,beforewe

makethechoice,weneedtothinktwice.WhatkindofjobdoIreallywantto
