courtsandthroughthefederalcourts．Withallthisopportunityforthecaseto

beturnedoverorthesentencetobechangeditisalmostimpossibleforan

innocentpersontobeexecuted．Onlytwopeoplehavebeenprovedinnocentafter

theirexecutionintheUnitedStates．Thesewrongfuldeathsoccurredin1918and

1949．Sincethenthejusticesystemhasundergonealotoffinetuningmaking

thisextremelyunlikelytoday.(5)Oneargumentagainstthedeathpenaltyisthat

itcostslesstoimprisonsomeoneforlifethantoexecutethem．Thisisagood

pointthathasa1otofimpactonalotofpeople’sviewsregardingcapital

punishmentsincetheyaretheonesfootingthebill．throughtaxes．Ipersonally

thevictimorvictimsanditseemsliketheonlywayjusticecouldbeservedis
