STUDY:VillaMüller-AdolfLoos

ThehousedesignprojectstartedwithastudyoftheVillaMüllerofAdolfLoos.Thedrawingsandmodelsshowhowthecomplicatedsplitlevelsarebeingconnected.

Stairisaconnection,itcanbedirectorindirect;itcanmakeyoucleareroritcanmakeyoulost.

InVillaMüllertherearetwotypesofstairs,oneisthecentralstair,servingthehousemaster,mainlyconnectsthemainfunctionroomsofthehouse.Besidesisthesidestair,usedbytheservant,connectingtheservicesareaofthehouse.

Themaster’sstairprovidesagentlespatialexperiencewhilethetravellingallowsvisualenjoymentscrossingdifferentrooms.Theservant’sstairisratherstraightforwardanddirect,givingtheshortesttravellingtimearoundthehouse.
