Therearemanyadvantagesindevelopingcloningtechnology.First,cloninganimalshastremendouspotentialforhelpingpeople.Theclonedanimalsmaybecomeaplentifulsourceoforgandonorsforpeople.Moreover,scientistsarguethattheycouldhelpcoupleswhohavedifficultyconceivingababytomakecopiesofthemselves.

However,cloningalsobringsitsownproblems.Manygovernmentshaveimposedabanoncloninghumansforitwouldcausesocialandethicalproblems.Someopponentsofcloningalsoobjecttotheuseofanimalsasresearchtools.

Whatevertheargumentsforandagainstcloningtechnology,itmustberealizedthatcloninginitselfisneithergoodnorbad.Itistheusestowhichitisputthatdetermineitsvaluetothemankind.1.有人认为读书要有选择;

Peoplehavedifferentattitudestowardreading.Someholdtheopinionthatoneshouldreadselectively,choosingonlythosethatareusefulandhelpful.Theenergyofapersonislimited.Soitisamatterofhowtousethelimitedenergyinamosteffectiveway,thatishowtogetasmuchusefulknowledgeaspossible.Onlybyreadingselectivelycanoneachievethisgoal.

However,othersthinkdifferently.Intheiropinion,oneshouldreadextensivelyforknowledgeofallkindswhichcanbenefitusorwillbenefitussomeday.Knowledgeisinfiniteandreadingextensivelyisakindofself-improvement.

Inmyopinion,attitudestowardreadingshouldchangeaccordingtothepurposeofreading.Whenworkingorstudying,oneshouldreadselectively,choosingonlythoseheneeds.Butwhenonereadsinhissparetimeandonlyreadsforenjoymentorself-improvement,itisbettertoreadextensively.AdvantagesandDisadvantagesofUsingElectronicDictionary

Withthedevelopmentofcomputerscience,electronicdictionaryisbecomingmoreandmorepopularthesedays.However,thereismuchdiscussionamonglanguageteachersaboutwhetherstudentsshouldbeallowedtouseelectronicdictionaryintheclass.

Manystudentsprefertouseelectronicdictionarybecauseofitsadvantagesovertraditionaldictionary.First,itishandyandthuseasytocarry.Second,itiseasytooperate.Justbypressingsomekeysonit,youcanfindoutthewordanditsrelatedinformation.

However,languageteachersarguethatconstantuseofelectronicdictionarymaycausesideeffects.

First,electronicdictionariescontainlessinformationthanthetraditionalthickones.Youmightbeabletofindoutthemeaningsofaword,butwithoutenoughexamples,yougetlittleideaabouthowthewordisusedindifferentsituationsfromelectronicdictionaries.Moreover,theelectronicdictionariesarenotalwayshelpful,forsomedifficultwordsarenotavailableinelectronicdictionaries.Themostserioushadeffectsonstudents’learninghabitsisthattheconstantuseofelectronicdictionariesmakesstudentsbecomedependentonit.Theybecomelazyandlackoftheabilityofguessingthewordmeaningfromthecontext.
