It all depends on whether it will be fine this afternoon.语法一GrammarRead the sentences below, and 结论 that、if和whether引导的宾语从句1.定义 在句中作宾语的句子叫作宾语从句。2.语序 宾语从句要用陈述句语序。3.引导词 (1)that用于引导原句为陈述句的宾语从句,此时that无实际意义,也不在句中充当任何成分,在口语和非正式文体中可以省略。 例:He told me (that) he would go to the college the next

6、year.他告诉我他明年上大学。 I believe (that)you will succeed in the future.我相信你将来会成功的。结论 (2)if和whether引导的宾语从句多是由一般疑问句转换而来,即将原来的疑问句语序改为陈述句语序。if和whether意为“是否”。 例:I dont know if/whether there will be a bus anymore.我不知道是否还会有公交车。 Nobody knew if/whether he could pass the exam.没人知道他是否会通过考试。(2)if和whether引导的宾语从句多是由一般疑问

7、句转换whether和if可以完全通用吗?whether和if可以完全通用吗?与or not连用时 例:I dont know whether he will come or not.我不知道他是否会来。介词之后只能用whether 例:Im interested in whether he likes English.我对他是否喜欢英语感兴趣。不定式之前只能用whether 例:I dont know whether to go.我不知道是否要去。置于句首时,whether不能替换为if 例:Whether she will come or not isnt know yet. 我不知道她是

8、否会来。用if易引起歧义时 例:Please let me know whether you like the book.请让我知道你是否喜欢这本书。(此时,whether若更换为if易引起歧义)只用whether,不用if的情况与or not连用时只用whether,不用if的情况温馨提示:if还可意为“如果”,此时它用于引导条件状语从句。当主句是祈使句、时态为一般将来时态或含有情态动词时,if从句用一般现在时表示将来。例:I wonder if Jack will leave for Beijing tomorrow. 我想知道明天杰克是否要前往北京。 If he does,Ill let

9、 you know. 如果他去了,我会让你知道。是否如果温馨提示:if还可意为“如果”,此时它用于引导条件状语从句。4.时态 (1)主句用一般现在时,从句可用任意时态。 例:I hear that you passed the exam,didnt you?我听说你通过考试了,对吗? (2)主句用过去时,从句用过去某个时态。 例:The old man told me that he had lived in the village for thirty years.那位老人告诉我,他已经在这个村庄住了三十年了。 (3)主句用过去时,从句是客观真理时,只用一般现在时。 例:Our teache
