Interestingly, 80 percent survived without treatment if kept in a completely clean environment. So researchers guess that infe

29、ctions(感染)are the cause of death and this “licking” behavior may help prevent infection. The African Matabele ants are even willing to sacrifice themselves, researchers noticed. The ants that were badly injured, too far gone to save, refused to co-operate with their helpers. When the healthy ants go
