The objective of this course is to develop a solid understanding of modern corporate finance and its application in todays corporate world.The main topics covered include:the time value of money and the valuation of bonds, stocks, and companies; (2) uncertainty and the trade-offs between risk and
7、return;corporate financing;debt and payout policy;financial analysis and planning.The concepts and methods introduced here are used heavily in both the practical and academic fields. This course is designed to help students advance future career in finance, either in the industry or in academia. Cri

13、ing method for this course is lecture and case discussion. Questions are always welcome. Some occasional Q&A will occur, and therefore the students should preview the course materials before each class.Cheating and other forms of academic dishonesty will not be tolerated. Academic dishonesty include
14、s, but is not limited to: copying the work of another student in an examination, providing answers to another student in an examination, using any unauthorized materials in an examination, impersonating another student or allowing such in an examination, changing the name or answers on an examinatio

The class participation grade will be based prim
19、arily on your contribution to this class, including responding to questions, asking questions, providing answers to other students* concerns, and clarifying the questions asked by the instructor. Your behavior should, however, show respect for your classmates/ desire to learn. Absences will hurt you
20、r participation grade.QuizzesThere may be 2 to 3 quizzes, which will be conducted on the designated days in the first 30-40 minutes of class. The days of the quizzes will be announced at least one week before each quiz. I will give you assignments beginning the second week of class. Students do not
21、have to turn in the assignments but should do them to prepare for the quizzes. Some of the material for the quizzes may be taken from the assignments. The quizzes are intended to help the students keep pace with thecourse.PresentationThis is a team work. Each team contains four to six students. The topic of the presentation pertains to measurement of
