7、s in this area. The knife is used to cut (cut)  things. You will soon get used to living (live) in the city. Mr. Green used to go (go) to the hospital, but now he is in good health. He is used to running (run)in the afternoon every day. 2. bother sb. about/with sth. 使某人烦恼或担忧;给某人造成麻烦或痛苦 我此刻不想让她为

8、我的事情操心。 I dont want to bother her with my problems at the moment.  拓展:bother to do sth 花费时间精力(做某事) 他甚至连通知都没通知我他要来。He didnt even bother to let me know he was coming. 3. might have done 本来也许 may, might后接完成时的用法 : (1) 表示对过去某事的推测,认为某一件事情在过去可能发生了。 Mary might have learned some Chinese before. (2)可以表示过

9、去本来可以做到而实际没有做到的事情,有“劝告”或“责备”的语气。 You didn't do the work well that day. You might have done it better. 4. plenty of“大量的,充裕的”, 用来修饰可数名词和不可数名词。市场上有很多鸡蛋。 There are plenty of eggs in the market. 我需要很多时间来完成这项工作。 I need plenty of time to finish the work. 5. keep sb. occupied 使某人忙碌 最重要的事是不要让自己闲着。 The mo

10、st important thing is to keep yourself occupied. 拓展:occupy sb./oneself with 忙于(做某事) 她忙于办公室的日常工作。 She occupied herself with routine office tasks. She kept herself occupied with routine office tasks. 6. be aware of 知道;意识到;察觉 我们所有的人都应该意识到环境保护的重要性。 All of us should be aware of the importance of environm

11、ental protection. 拓展:be aware that 意识到;察觉 我察觉到她在颤抖。 I was aware that she was trembling. 7. get through Figure out the meanings of “get through”: We got through a fortune while we were in New York. 用完;消耗掉 My friends helped me get through the difficult times. 度过;熬过(困难时期) She got all her students

(paragraph 6) as though=as if +从句 所表示的情况是真实的用陈述语气;所表示的情况是不真实的用虚拟语气。 It looks as if it is going to rain.(真的会下雨) It looks

(不会下雨) as if /as though后接虚拟语气的用法: as if /as though+ 与现在事实相反 主+过去时 (be用were) 与过去事实相反 主+过去完成时 与将来事实相反 主+would /could/might do练习: 他那样看我,好像我是个疯子。 He looked at me as if/though I were mad. 他谈起罗马来好像他曾经到过那里似的。 He talked about Rome as if/though he had been there before. 他张开嘴,好像要

14、和你说什么似的。 He opened his lips as if/though he would say something to you. 9. So, what literature means to me is very simple all the books I have read, or will read.
