People always emphasize that the new couple must be matched with each othe

3、r that they must act equally(at least apparently) in any ways. People dont have the right to choose their wife or husband, most of them get married by their parents commands. Reasons The convention of ancient marriage can be usually described to some extent as a sacrifice for the benifits of the fam

4、ily or the nation,such as the marriages of many innocent princesses in ancient dynasty,they got married only for political reasons. Political marriage Across the history Chinese families had paid great attention to the matched marriages,which reffer to the marriage between families which are equal i

5、n social and economic status.Marriage of property The accient marriage is quite different from the modern one,which has emphasized on the happiness of individuals. Consequently,there was a stereotype that a marriage without the permission of parents or the recommendation of match-makers would be con

6、sidered informal. Generally speaking,it was very unfair for both the couple to accept such arrangements,especially for women. They were required not only to serve only one husband but also to obey many strict rules,and the notable one can be the three obediences and the four virtues. A notable man c

7、ould have lots of wifes while women were borned unimportantly. Thats because the social class of women were still inferior to men at that time and they were usually physically weak. In one word,women hardly had rights in pursuing their own happiness in ancient marriages,from which most of them had s

8、uffered a lot.Unfair marriageTraditional marriage Most of traditional Chinese still think the ideal marriage is the one in which people could stay with beloved partner for eternity. The family background and reputation of bride and bridegroom were still seriously taken into account,and all the same,

9、 the purpose of the marriage was focused on raising children,but it is more advanced. Men are still a little more dominant than women in traditional marriages,because men are the still the main force to support the family and women are still not adequate for many jobs . But things have become better

10、 that women start to have many rights ensured by the law. The marriage at that time is not complicated that large mount of traditional people had never even thought about it.Everyone would be easily satisfied with a little progress in the improvement of the life,much less spending all the day on sea

11、rching the ideal person for their marriage. The wedding ceremony is still considered as an important part of the traditional marriage,which is necessary for the public acknowledgement. In the eyes of most traditioal Chinese people,a couple get married without formal ceremony will not be easily accep

12、ted even if they have registered. In the traditional marriage it is still hard for couples to choose the person to get married or divorced as they wish,so the marriage can be considered very stable with a low divorce rate,from which their children can be favoured a lot. Modern marriage Nowadays it i

13、s much more free for the young people to choose beloved partner for their marriage,which we can attribute to the remarkable social progresses and the changes in peoples attitude towards marriage and love. Now women are in much better social status and many of them begin to have the key. The notable

14、change in modern marriage is that the person who makes the decision has turned into the couples themselves instead of their parents. The purpose of marriage has been changed from raising younger generation to love. It would be very wise of people to abandon such prejudice about marriage and now peop

15、le can have their own goals in their marriage. Whats more,people find it very convenient for them to get divorced or not in this age. Thus,a new phenomenon in modern marriage has taken place that the bride and bridegroom get married and divorced with each other in a very short time(even in one day),

16、which we can call as flash marriage. It usually occurs among the young people who are between their twentys or thirtys and it has become a trend of modern marriage. Meanwhile,the crisis in modern marriage has increased,due to the high expense and fast rhythm of life,such asfinancial problem(housing,

17、renting)insufficient time to understand each otherbeing involved with another man/women(the most typical one)Marriage across the nations It is also called transnational or mixed marriage,the prevalence of which can be dated back to the early days of 1980s when China was waging a campaign of reform a

18、nd opening up all over the country. The emerge of mixed marriage can be described to one of such effects of opening strategies. It is usually composed of couples from different countries,and the typical individuals in China can be many famous stars,such as Weiwei,Zhou huajian,zhang manyu and so on.

19、In the eyes of most people, the mixed marriage can be very romantic and once it was the dream that many famous stars have made. However,their marriage always fell short of peoples expectation. Researches have indicated that nearly fourty pecents of couples,after several years of living together, fin

20、ally find themselves incompatible and then get divorced. The main pains that the couples in a mixed marriage may suffer from can be concluded as following subjects:v language barrier(the biggest obstacle)v cultural differences(inherent)v religious conflicts(currently less)v distinct customs(inevitab

21、le) But it is strange that the high divorce rate of mixed marriage in China does not seem to hold the ambitious people back,many of which are young girls waiting anxiously to lead a life abroad. Actually no pair would come to a good end If they never think it over about whether they are fit for the marriage across nations.
