Summary Task 1. 语法讲解,情态动词could 的用法:情态动词的含义:表示说话人对某一动作或状态的态度,表示“可能”,“应当”,“必要”等含义。但情态动词本身词义不完全,不能单独作谓语,必须和动词原形连用。情态动词没有人称和数的变化。could 的用法1. could是can 的过去式,在过去时态中表示能力,推测,可能性等。eg: When he was young, he could draw wonderful pictures. They couldnt be here for they were in London at that time.2. could用来表示请求给予帮助或请求允许,以示委婉的,礼貌的或不确定的语气,其句式为: Could 主语please动词原形其他成分?而can则不具备这些语气,此时不能将它看作can的过去式。eg: -Could I use your car for a day?- Sure./ Certainly./ Of course./ No, you cant. I have to go out.说明:1)做出肯定回答时通常用Yes, I can./Sure./Certainly./Yes,(do) please./Of course./ Thats OK./All right. 2)如果不同意,可以说Im sorry. I cant./ Im really sorry, but I have to use it today.要避免说No, you cant.这样显得很不礼貌。否定回答通常用委婉语气。 3)could在表请求的问句中是为了表示礼貌和委婉语气,用在应答中则变成了不确定的语气,与情理不符。所以应答中不说Yes, you could.或No, you couldnt.Task2.
