Unit 5 Do you want to watch a game show?Section A 1 (1a-2d)一、教学目标: 1. 语言知识目标:1) 能掌握以下单词:sitcom, news, soap, educational, plan, hope, find out, discussion, stand, happen, expect 能掌握以下句型:Do you want to watch the news? What do you want to watch? What do you think of talk shows? I cant stand them. I dont mind them. I like/love them. / I dont like them. 2) 学会陈述自己的看法;学会谈论自己的喜好。2. 情感态度价值观目标: 学会谈论流行文化,了解各类电视和电视节目的名称和自己的喜欢。 注意引导学生们形成正确的文化观念,大力培养学生们的跨文化意义,形成自己独立的个性。二、教学重难点1. 教学重点:1) 学习掌握各类电视和电视节目的名称。2) 掌握want /hope /plan引导的不定式做宾语。 2. 教学难点:熟练使用love /stand /dont mind等词表达自己的爱好。3、 学情分析学生的整体英语水平较差,英语交际的能力比较弱,但学生的思维活跃,有参与意识。部分学生的基础较好,能够主动配合老师,愿意开口讲。他们学习英语既感到好奇又担忧,相当一部分学生对英语毫无兴趣;部分成绩好的学生希望得到他人的肯定,因此我在教学活动中尽量让他们参与到活动中来,有更多的机会来说英语,减少他们的恐惧感:通过学生间的合作学习,降低他们的学习难度,使他们体验到成功的喜悦。4、 教材分析本节课为Unit5的第一课时,从学生的现实生活切入,引导学生说出自己对电视节目的喜好,并通过练习来了解各种电节目的名称,主要以听说为主,注重培养学生运用语言进行交际的能力。五、教学过程Step1. Lead-in Do a survey and ask:Whats your favorite programmer?Do you want to watch a game show?【设计意图】:通过调查了解学生喜欢的电视节目,让学生了解电视节目分很多类,引出本课时的新知识。Step2. Present the new wordsLook at the pictures and ask:T:What are these TV shows?Ss: Theyre game shows/ talk shows /talent shows.【设计意图】:利用多媒体图片呈现本课时的词汇,形象、直观、生动,便于学生掌握。Step3. Game 1. 引导学生们看1a中的图片,根据提示依次说出每一部TV Show的名称。 2. 让学生们看图片及1a中的词汇,将图片与正确的词汇相连。 1. talk show _ 2. soap opera _ 3. sports show _ 4. sitcom _5. game show _ 6. talent show _ 7. news _3. Check the answers with the Ss.【设计意图】:通过让学生完成匹配练习,进一步巩固词汇的学习。Step4.DO a surveyLook at the pictures and askWhat do you think of these TV shows ?【设计意图】:通过向学生呈现不同类型的节目图片,引出新句型。Step5. Listening 1. T: Tell Ss to read the shows in the box. Make sure they know the meaning of the shows. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and number the shows1-4. 1b Listen and number the shows 1-4 in the order you hear them. _ talent show _ talk show _ soccer game _ news3. Play the recording again.Listen again and answer the questions. Remember the questions first.1) What does Mark plan to do later?2) What does Jack think of talk shows?3) Does Jack like the news?4) What does Jack think of talent shows?5) Does Mark want to watch the soccer game at 5:00? How about Jack?4. Play the once more. Check the answers with the Ss. 【设计意图】: 通过让学生完成听力练习,进一步巩固新句型的学习。Step6. Pair work 1. Let Ss look at the pictures in the box. Then explain the meaning of each expression to the Ss. 2. Let Ss read the conversation after the teacher. Then let Ss make their own conversation using the shows and expressions in the box. 1c Practice the conversation. Then make your own conversations.A: What do you want to watch?B: What do you think of talk shows?A: Theyre OK. I dont mind them. B: Then lets watch a talk show. 3. Let some pairs ask and answer about the shows. A: What do you want to watch?B: What do you think of sports shows?【设计意图】:通过让学生小组练习对话,进一步巩固新句型的学习。Step7. Listening Work on 2a: 1. Look at the picture and answer the questions. 1) Where are they? What are they doing?2) What are they probably talking about?2. Read the shows in the box of 2a. Tell Ss to remember the information. _ sitcoms _ news_ game shows _ talk shows _ soap operas 2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and number the TV shows 1-5. Listen to Lin Hui and Sallys conversation. Number the TV shows 1-5 in the order you hear them. _ sitcoms _ news_ game shows _ talk shows _ soap operas 3. Play the recording again to check the answers. Work on 2b: Listen again. Complete the sentences. 1) Sally likes to watch _.2) Lin Hui thinks she can learn _ _ from sitcoms. 3) Sally thinks _ are more educational than sitcoms.4) Sally loves _. She plans to watch Days of Our Past _. 1. Let Ss read the sentences below. Explain some main sentences for the Ss. Make sure they know what to do. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to write the correct words in the blanks. 3. Play the recording again to check the answers. 4. Listen once more then answer the questions.1)What does Lin Hui think of sitcoms?2) Does Sally like sitcoms? Role-play Practice the conversation with their partner. Then let some pairs to act out the conversation. 【设计意图】:通过让学生用小组对话,并表演对话进一步巩固新学句型。Step9. Summry What do / does sb. think of .?与How do / does sb. like .?同义,用来询问对某事物或某人的观点或看法,意为“某人认为怎么样?”;回答时可用love, like, not mind, not like, not stand等来表达对某事物或某人的好恶程度。e.g. What do you think of soap operas? = How do you like soap operas?I dont mind them.【设计意图】:呈现、归纳、巩固本节课所学习句型和语法。Step10.
