摘要研究译家的翻译思想，只有读其译著，才可深究真谛否则，对其人其说只能是一知半解严复在中国翻译吏上堪称。译坛大家。，估著名的八部译作可谓脍炙人口，家吩户晓通过对它们的详读可以发现，为了译介域外学术思想，同时阐明自己的思想，严复真可谓是“宁为玉碎，不为瓦全。他通过其译作中的译饲言以及和好友的通信等手段表迭了他的翻译思想多年来很多学者专论或者涉及过严复及其翻译思想。信、达、雅”似乎成了其翻译思想的全部但是细究严译名著，便可发现以往研究视野的不及之处本文选取严译名著天演论以及群己权界论为倒，通过比较详细的研究来考察严复通过翻译实践提出的。非正法”翻译思想，它其实就是严复在其翻译过程中选择的一种翻译手段，而他之所以做出这样的选择，与他明确的翻译目的直接相关尽管任何一个译者对翻译策略等方面的选择是要受到自己所处时代争环境等各种因素所影响的，但是根据i a r t sj v o r m e e r 的目的论翻译理论，翻译是一种基于源语文本的有意图的、人际阀的、部分地通过语言媒介的跨文化互动行为而这一理论的最高准则是目的决定翻译行为，在翻译过程中，对翻译材井的选择，翻译策略的选择和翻译方法的选择都是由翻译目的决定的由此可见，在翻译策略选择的过程中，翻译目的起着至关重要的作用通过考察发现，虽然有学者研究过严复的翻译思想以及翻译策略，并且也注意到了他翻译的目的，但是更多的研究只是有关他翻译思想的核心“信、达，雅”这一“三字”原则，没有人进行比较系统的研究去探讨他提出的“非正法”翻译手段以及他为什么会做出这样的翻译来所以本文以h a n sj 。v e r m o r 的翻译目的论为理论基础，选取严复的中译本天演论以及群己权界论和它们相对应的原著为饲，通过对其翻译目的和“非正法”翻译手段进行研究，研究结果如下：1 ) 严复的4 非正法”翻译其实是一种翻译手段，它不同于通常情况下的微观的翻译技巧，而是一种宏现上的翻译策略，这种翻译译中有评，译中有迷，译中有缟，译中有写，译中有删除，也有增加2 ) 严复翻译思想的另一伟大创新在于他所言及所为的“非正法”翻译在这种策略指导下，严复做出的翻译并不是。不负责任。的乱译，而是。由于特殊摄取的需要”，也就是说这种“非正法”翻译的所言所为，都取决于他的翻译目的该论文由七大部分组成，第一部分主要介绍研究背景，研究的目的，意义，并对相关的概念进行了界定第二部分是本研究的理论基础。主要包括h a n sj v e r m e e r 的目的论翻译理论第三部分在对相关研究回顾的基础上，提出进行此项研究的盐要性第四部分主要是具体的研究方法，包括研究问题，研究方法以及严复的翻译作品天演论和群己权界论及其相对应的原著的选取押第五部分是对选取的译本大量选例进行研究并得出结果第六部分在研究结果的基础上对其进行深层次的探讨，分析隐藏在结果背后的真正原因第七部分是本研究的结论部分，简要总结了本研究的结论与局限性以及谊研究有待更深层次研究的建议关键词：目的论；翻译策略；翻译i
