摘要 埃德加爱伦坡( e d g a ra l l a np o e ，1 8 0 9 - 1 8 4 9 ) 是美国十九世 纪著名的小说家、评论家和诗人。他在波德莱尔和马拉美的介绍下成 为欧洲唯美主义和象征主义文学运动的先驱，却直到二十世纪才被美 国文学界完全接受。现在他成为了世界文学史上最具影响力的作家之 一。这些戏剧性的转变都源于爱伦坡的美学观：在道德说教盛行的 十九世纪的美国文学界，爱伦坡却独树一帜地倡导诗歌应书写美而 摒弃道德因素。 爱伦坡在许多批评和散文中展示了他的美学观点，但最为完整 而且成体系的美学观见于他的散文诗我发现了。在其中，爱伦坡 通过对宇宙的形成、发展以及灭亡的大胆想象，以间接的手法阐述了 以“美”为核心的美学观。本文即从我发现了入手，探讨其后期 诗歌中所展现的独特的美。本论文将立足于爱伦坡散文诗中体现出 的宇宙观，通过文本细读。诠释其后期诗歌创作中极力展现的诗歌独 特的美，具体表现为形神兼备之美、回归精神、灵魂净化之美。 本文共分四章： 第一章：我发现了：美的源泉。爱伦坡的宇宙观及其艺术观 集中体现在我发现了之中。它是诗人对宇宙物质层面和精神层面 的思考。其中体现的独一性的宇宙观折射出了诗人的美学观，即美是 诗歌唯一的领域，它既是形式上的和谐，也是物质与精神的统一。这 是一种灵魂的美。 第二章：音乐之美。在我发现了中，爱伦坡认为宇宙从其 形成的那刻起就在引力的作用下趋向和谐与统一。与之相对应，诗歌 的音乐成为推进诗歌统一的动力。诗歌的音乐之美体现在由强烈的节 奏感以及优美的韵律造就的和谐。诗人所追求的音乐之美不仅能带来 听觉上的享受、形式上的统一，还能引起情感上的共鸣。 第三章：意象之美。爱伦坡认为，引导宇宙走向统一的引力是 “形”，在统一过程中产生的斥力是“灵”，斥力的产生源于原子的异 质性。爱伦坡在意象上创造的美就是带有异质性的美。诗人将死亡、 骚乱和黑暗赋予美入、宁静和光明，给予了通常意义上的美的意象以 骇人的特质。这种意象之美将人们对物质世界的关注转向对精神世界 的沉思，成为诗歌宇宙的灵魂。 第四章：和谐之美。诗人所追求的美是和谐的。这种和谐不仅仅 是形式上的，而且还直指人的灵魂。正如宇宙起源于精神原质也归于 此。爱伦坡在诗歌之中创造了一个理想的美的世界。这种美是不真 实的、抽象的，但却能使灵魂得到净化、升华。只有在对直觉之美的 凝神观照中才能获得这种超凡的美。这种凝神观照体现在诗人所创造 的回忆的与想象的世界。 本文以爱伦坡的宇宙观为起点对其晚期诗歌中的美的研究，不 仅有助于我们深入的了解他宇宙观背后深藏的艺术观以及他所构建 的诗歌的艺术世界，而且有助于我们把握他作为象征主义与唯美主义 的先驱对文学发展产生的影响，并以此为媒，探究美国文学与世界文 学的发展轨迹。 关键词：爱伦坡，美学观，晚期诗歌，美，宇宙观 a b s t r a c t e d g a ra l l a np o e ( 1 8 0 9 -
