In1840s,itwastheageofsocialunrestintheUnitedKingdom.Withtherapiddevelopmentofcapitalism,theconflictofsocialclasshadintensifiedatagreatlickandthefamouschartermovementinBritishhistorybrokeout.ThoughBritainhadreformeditsbourgeoisdemocracyandthegovernmenthadalsotakensomereformmeasuresonthesurface.Forexample,thesystemofworkingtenhoursforfemaleworkerspushedeverywhereinBritain.Thestatusofwomeninsocietyhadnotbeenimprovedandhadnoequalrights.HistoricalbackgroundPart.2Author’slifeCharlotteBronte,anEnglishauthoresswasbornintoaruralpastorfamilyofYorkshireinwhichlocatednorthofBritain.Charlottehastowoldersisters,MariaandElizabeth.Bothhersisterweresenttoaboardingschool.Onaccountofodiousconditions,typhoidfeverwasprevalentinschoolforsecondyear,andCharlotte’stwosisterswereinfectedanddiedinafewdays.Thisterribleexperienceleftfearful,unforgettableimpressioninhersole.Laterinhernovel“JaneEyre”,shewasfullofdeepfeelingwhichwasportrayed,andthegirlHeleninthenovelthelovelyimage,iswithhersisterMariaastheprototype.Part.2Author’slifeCharlottewenttowealthyfamiliesasatutortwicetimes.Theprofessionwasdiscriminatedagainstatthetime.Inalettertohersister,Emily,shewrote,“privateteachers,......ithasnomeaning,andisnotregardedasalivingandrationalpersonatall.”Soshequicklyhatedtheprofessionoffamilyteachers.Then,sheandEmilywenttoFrenchschoolinBrussels.ButforCharlotte,intheyearofBrussels,themostimpressivethingtoherwasMr.Ege.Shelovedhim,butendedinfailure.Therefore,shebacktohometownandheldFrenchschoolwithhertwosisters.Inthecourseofafewmonths,noneofthestudentssignedupforadmission.Theirthreesistersmadeacollectionofpoemsandpublishedit.Finally,allofthemsetfootontheroadofwriting.Charlotteandherlittlesisters,EmilyJaneBrontewhoistheauthorofWutheringHeightsandAnneBrontewhohadcreatedAgnesGreyarecalled“thethreesistersofBronte”.Part.3ThestoryJaneEyre'sparentswasdeadwhenshewaslittle,soJanelivedinheruncle'shouseandbroughtupbyherauntMrs.Reedafterheruncle'sdeath.Mrs.Reeddidn'tlikeJaneatallandherchildrenalsooftenbullyher.ButonedayMrs.ReedwasboredaboutJaneandthensenthertoanorphanage.IntheLowoodOrphanage,Janegottheeducationwhichshehadneveracquired.Besides,shemadeagoodfriendnamedHelenBurns.AndMissTemplealsotreatedherfriendly.

ShefellinlovewithMr.Rochester,themasterofThornfield,aftergettingalongwitheachotheraperiodoftime.However,JanewastoldMr.Rochesterhadamadwifeinthewedding,shechosetoleavesecretly.JanewassavedbyMr.River'sfamilywhenshewashomelessandhadnothing.Livinginthereafteraperiodoftime,Mr.Riverrequestedherhandinmarriage,butJanerefusedbecauseshestilllovedMr.Rochester.Therefore,JanedecidedtocomebacktoMrRochester.Unfortunately,Helenwasbadlyillbecauseofthecoldweatherandherphysicalproblemandthenshewasdead.Afterseveralyears,JanegrewupinLowoodOrphanageandgotgoodeducation.SoshemadeadvertisementandwasallowedtobeagovernessinThornfield.ShetaughtalittlegirlinThornfield.AlthoughJanewaspoor,plain,smallinbody,shehadahugesoul.Shewasself-respected.Part.3Thestory
