Thelastfewyearshavebeenarollercoasterrideforadvertisersaroundthe

world.WithCOVID-19uncertainties,mediaspenddippedsharplyin2020followedbyamassivereboundthenextyear.Despitecontinuedeconomicuncertainty,

we’veseenadspendbegintoreturntopre-pandemiclevelsinmanymarkets,and72%ofglobalmarketersexpecttheiradvertisingbudgetstoincreaseintheyearahead.1

Atthecategorylevel,severalFMCGcategoriesrankedamongstthetop

10categoriesforspendacrossthefivemarkets,asdidretail.However,the

automotiveindustryspentbigonmotorcaradvertisingacrossallfivemarkets.

WhenitcomestowhereadvertisersarespendinginWesternEurope,traditionalmediaisstillwinningalargeshareofadspendbymediachannelineachmarket.However,theNetherlandsandU.K.areleadingthewayindigitaladspendasashareofthetotal.
