Analysisofteachingmaterials:
ThislessonistakenfromUnit6SpaceandBeyondPresentingideas(2019).Withthethemeofspaceexploration,theunitintroducesthehistoryofspaceexploration,thecurrentstateofspacenavigation,andthepossibilityofextraterrestriallifeinthefuture.
Teachingobjectives:
1.KnowledgeObjective:Studentsunderstandthehistoryandachievementsofspaceexplorationandunderstandthedevelopmenttrendofspaceexploration.
2.Abilitygoal:Todevelopstudents'Englishlistening,speaking,readingandwritingskills,andtobeabletodescribespaceexplorationandexpressopinions.
3.Emotionalgoal:stimulatestudents'interestinscience,cultivatestudents'creativethinkingandteamworkconsciousness.
Teachingfocus:
1.Wordsandphrases:spaceexploration,spaceshuttle,artificialsatellite,terraforming,extraterrestrial,etc.
2.Historyandachievementsofspaceexploration.
3.Futuredevelopmentofspaceexplorationandthepossibilityofextraterrestriallife.
Teachingdifficulties:
1.Understandandapplyknowledgetodescribeandexpressopinionsaboutspaceexploration.
2.Understandandsummarizethekeyinformationinthetext.
Analysisoflearningsituation:
ThestudentisaseniorsophomorewitharelativelyhighlevelofEnglishandhasmasteredbasicEnglishlistening,speaking,readingandwritingskills.Haveaninterestinspaceexplorationandscientificknowledge,butmaynothaveagoodunderstandingofthehistoryandfuturedevelopmentofspaceexploration.Studentshaveasenseofteamworkandcreativethinking,suitablefordiscussionandcollaborativelearning.

1.Takestudentsasthemainbody,createagoodlearningatmosphereandstimulatestudents'interest.

1.Warmupwithstudents:Teacherscanusethepicturesontheclassroombulletinboardorslidetoshowstudentssomespacerelatedpictures,suchasspaceships,stars,planets,etc.,andaskstudentstoguessanddescribetheiruseornatureaccordingtothepictures.
2.Organizeagroupdiscussion:Studentsbreakintosmallgroupsanddiscussthepictures.TheteacherledstudentstotalkaboutEnglishwordsandphrasesrelatedtothepictures,suchas"spaceexploration"and"spacecraft".

2.Groupmunication:Studentsworkingroups,sharetheirownopinionsandreasons,andmunicateanddiscusswitheachother.
3.Presentideas:Eachgroupchoosesarepresentativetopresenttheirgroup'sideastotheclassandtrytoconvincetheotherstudentstoaccepttheirideas.
4.Classdebate:Dividestudentsintotwoteams,onesupportingmoreresourcesforspaceexplorationandtheothersupportingsolvingproblemsonEarth.Eachteamsentrepresentativestodebate,inalimitedtime,putforwardtheirownviews,andaccordingtotheothersideofthepointofviewtorefute.

TeachingActivities:
1.Teacherssummarizestudents'ideasandideasinclassinteractionandremindstudentshowtoexpresstheirideasandopinionsinEnglish.
