asobject动词不定式和动名词作宾语
动词不定式和动名词均可在及物动词后作宾语,但在使用过程中应注意以下几点: -ingform
是由动词变化而来,它一方面保留着动词的某些特征,具有动词的某些变化形式,用以表达名词所不能表达的较为复杂的意念,另一方面它在句子里的用法及功能与名词类同:在句子中可以作主语、宾语、表语、定语。-ingform的否定形式在前面之间加not,即not-ingform。Theyrunintoconstantdiscriminationintryingtofindajoborfriend.在寻找工作和结交朋友方面,他们不断地受到歧视。Livingindigsmeanshavingoneroominsomeone’shouse.寄居的意思是在别人的家里借住一间房间。toinfinitive
动词不定式是指动词中的一种不带词形变化从而不指示人称、数量、时态的一种非谓语动词形式,表示的意义多为“打算”“计划”“希望”“将要做某事”等表示未来的或未做的事,而-ingform表示正在进行,一般性或经常性发生的行为。动词不定式的否定形式在前面之间加not,即nottoinfinitive。Thedriverfailedtoseetheothercarintime.司机没能及时看见另一辆车。Ihappentoknowtheanswertoyourquestion.我碰巧知道你那个问题的答案。1.常接动词不定式作宾语的及物动词有:agree,choose,decide,hope,fail,wish,refuse,expect,manage,plan,intend,pretend,promise,offer,afford,demand,arrange等。例如:Whatdidtheydecidetodo?Shefailedtocometoschoolyesterday.Ihopetobebacksoon.IamoutofworksoIcannotaffordtoliveinthisbigflat.2.常接动名词作宾语的及物动词有:finish,enjoy,mind,keep,miss,avoid,consider,imagine,practise,delay,escape,excuse,allow,suggest等。例如:我们可以在下个月底之前建好这座桥。Wecanfinishbuildingthebridgebeforetheendofnextmonth.请您开一下窗户,好吗?Wouldyoumindopeningthewindow?3.两者均可接的及物动词有:1)有些及物动词后既可接动名词作宾语,又可接动词不定式作宾语,且两者意义差别不大。这类词有:
prefer,hate,begin,start,continue,cease,like等。离开教室后,学生们开始做作业。Aftertheteacherlefttheclassroom,thestudentsbegan
todo/doingtheirhomework.注意:但在下列情况下,宜用动词不定式作宾语,而不用动名词。like,love,prefer,hate等与would或should连用时。如:
I’dprefertostayhometowatch.begin,start,continue等本身用进行时时。如:Shewasstartingtodoherhomework.begin,start,cease,continue的主语是物而不是人时。如:Theiceceasedtomeltinwinter.3.两者均可接的及物动词有:2)有些及物动词后既可接动名词作宾语,又可接动词不定式作宾语,但两者结构意义不同。
①像remember,forget,regret这类词;
remember,forget,regret+todoremember,forget,regret+doing表示该动作还未发生表示该动作已经发生3.两者均可接的及物动词有:meantodosth.打算(意图)做某事meandoingsth.意味着做某事can’thelptodosth.不能帮忙做某事can’thelpdoingsth.情不自禁做某事goontodosth.接着做另一件事goondoingsth.继续做同一件事
②有些及物动词后跟动词不定式或动名词时,结构不
同,则意思差别很大。如:
3.两者均可接的及物动词有:Yourhouseneedsrepairing.=Yourhouseneedstoberepaired.need,want,require等动词后面跟动名词的主动形式和动词不定式的被动式表示被动意义。如:stop之后的动名词为宾语,stop之后的动词不定式为目的状语。如:Westopped
working.Westoppedtohavearest.Whenitbegantorain,westoppedworking
