Scope

Thisstandardshallapplytotheelectromagneticcompatibilitytestmethodforeachfunctionalequipmentundertest(hereinafterreferredtoas“EUT”)ofboth12Vand24Vvehicles.

Objective

ThisstandardistoobtaintheelectromagneticqualitybymeasuringandevaluatingtheimmunityandinterferenceoftheECUinorderthattheycanbeoperatedforintendedusewithoutanyperformancedeteriorationintheelectromagneticenvironment.

Definitions

EquipmentUnderTest(EUT):TestSample

EMC(ElectromagneticCompatibility):

Abilityofinstruments,equipmentorsystemsthatcanoperatetosatisfythespecifiedelectromagnetic

environmentwithoutcausinganyunacceptableelectromagneticinterferencetoothertoolsintheir

vicinity.

Abilitythatsignalsandelectromagneticinterferencecancoexistwithoutanylossofdatacontainedinthe

requiredsignals.

EMI(ElectromagneticInterference):

Electromagneticphenomenawheretheperformanceoftheinstruments,equipmentorsystemscouldbe

degradedduetotheelectromagneticinterference.

Note)InEnglish,interferenceanddisturbanceareoftenusedwithoutdistinctionofeachother.

EMS(ElectromagneticSusceptibility):

Degreetowhichtheperformancedegradationofinstruments,equipmentorsystemscanoccurinaplace

wheretheelectromagneticinterferenceexists.

Note)Itindicateshowinsufficienttheimmunityis.

ESD(ElectrostaticDischarge):

Movementofelectricchargethatoccursbetweentheobjectswhenanobjectwithdifferentstaticelectric

potentialapproachesorcontactsanother.

Disturbance:

Electromagneticphenomenathatcouldcausetheperformancedegradationofinstruments,equipmentor

systems,orinadvertentlyaffecttheorganismorinactivesubstances.

Note)Electromagneticnoise,spurioussignalorautonomouschangeinelectromagneticmediacanbea

goodexample.

Immunity:

Abilityofinstruments,equipmentorsystemsthatcanoperatewithoutanyperformancedegradationinan

environmentofelectromagneticinterference.

Radiation:

Emissionofenergyintheformofelectromagneticwavesfromtheenergysourceintospace.

Energythatisemittedortransmittedintheformofelectromagneticwavesthroughspace.

Duringashortperiodoftimecomparedtothetimescaleofaninterestingobject,anychangemade

between2continuoussteadystatesoritsrelatedamount,orbothmetionedearlier.

Vectorfieldmarkedasinthegivenposition.Itisarithmeticallythesameastheforceappliedtotheunit

positivechargethatisnotinmovementifitislocatedinaplacewithoutmagneticfield.

Thesignalssuppliedshallconformto2004/104/EC(2004)orISO/DIS11452-1(2003).

EUTCondition

1)TheEUTduringthetestshallbeundernormaloperation.

2)TheNormaloperatingconditionshallindicatetheenginerunningunlessotherwisespecified.

FortheEUTfunctioningwiththekeyoff,thetestshallbecarriedouteveninKeyOffmode(battery

powerinputcondition),suchasREKESorRES.

3)TheKeyOffshallindicatethatthekeyisremovedortheIgnition/ACCisoffwiththekeyinserted.

4)TheloadconnectedtoEUTshallbeconnectedtotheactualload,ifpossible.

1)RegionⅠ:Everyfunctionshallbeoperatedasdesignedduringandaftertheexposureto

electromagneticinterference.

2)RegionⅡ:Everyfunctionshallbeexecutedasdesignedduringandaftertheexposuretointerference.

Oneormorefunctionsmaybe,however,beyondthespecifiedrange.Aftertheexposure,allfunctions

shallautomaticallyreturntothenormallimitvalue.Thememoryfunctionshallbeinaccordancewiththe

RegionI.

3)RegionⅢ:Allfunctionsshallnotbeoperatedasdesignedduringtheexposuretointerference,

butautomaticallyreturntonormaloperation.

4)RegionⅣ:Allfunctionsshallnotbeoperatedasdesignedduringtheexposuretointerference,

norautomaticallyreturntonormaloperation

VoltageTransientEmissionTest

Thistestisaimedmainlytomeasurethetransientvoltageandcurrentthataregeneratedbyinductive

devices(Motor,Solenoid,Relay,etc.)andshallalsoapplytosub-systemswheresuchECU(Electronic

ControlUnit)areinterconnectedtothewiringharnesses.Besides,Itisaunitleveltestprocedureto

evaluatethevehicleECU(ElectronicControlUnit)forconductedtransientemission(electromagnetic

interference)tothebatteryB+orignitioninputendofatestsample.

TheECU(ElectronicControlUnit)thatcouldbeapotentialcauseofconductedinterferenceshallsatisfythe

itemsofthistest.

TestCondition

1)VoltageSuppliedforTest:Thestandardbatteryforvehiclemaintaining13.0±0.5Vshallbeused.

2)ThetestshallbeperformedusingthegroundplaneandL.I.S.N(LineImpedanceStabilizationNetwork)

andconformtoISO7637-2(2004).

3)Unlessotherwisespecified,theswitchusedinthetestshallhaveresistantloadandbecontinuous

3)TurnON/OFForOFF/ONtheswitchforthetransienttestsampletomeasurethetransient.

4)Afteradjustingthetriggerlevelontheoscilloscope,measureandrecordthemaximumnegativeand

positivevoltages.

Thetestconditionsincludingthesamplingtimeusedandprobespecificationshallberecordedindetail.
