英国小说家,因塑造了成功的侦探人物――歇洛克·福尔摩斯而成为侦探小说历史上最重要的作家之一。除此之外他还曾写过多部其他类型的小说,如科幻、历史小说、爱情小说、戏剧、诗歌等。道尔的第一部重要作品是发表在《1887年比顿圣诞年刊》(Beeton'sChristmasAnnualfor1887)的侦探小说《血字的研究》(AStudyinScarlet),该部小说的主角就是之后名声大噪的歇洛克·福尔摩斯。整理课件
