1In1963theleaderoftheLabourPartymadeaspeechexplainingplansfora

"universityoftheairw-aneducationalsystemwhichwouldmakeuseoftelevision,

asstudents.Correspondenceunitshadbeencarefullypreparedandsciencestudents

weregivendevicesforasmallhomelaboratory.Studycentershavebeensetupall

overthecountrysothatstudentscanattendonceaweek,andonceayeartheywill
