Criticsseesuchcasesasevidenceoftheneedformoregovernmentoversightofaburgeoning(新兴的)areaofscientificresearch.“Thisisasmallincident,butit’sincidentslikethisthatcoulddestroyconsumerconfidenceandexportconfidence”,saysStephanieChildsoftheGroceryManufacturersofAmerica.“WealreadyhaveEuropeshakyonbiotech.Thecountriestowhichweexportaregoingtolookatthis.”
