One of the two shoes is the leading shoe, i.e. the frictional forces between the brake lining and the brake drum act to support the application force, whereas the frictional forces in the case of the trailin

12、g shoe act to oppose the tensioning force.In the case of the simplex brake, C*(brake factor) is the sum of the values for the individual shoes, and is 2.0(referred to a specific coefficient of friction) A disadvantage of this design is the great difference in the braking effect between the two brake

13、 shoes, and the resulting greatly increased wear on the leading shoe. While ABS offers improved vehicle control in some circumstances, it can also present disadvantages including increased braking distance on slippery surfaces such as ice, pac
