24、.I caught sight of a man riding a pony down the street, a pony and a brand-new saddle; the most beautiful saddle I ever saw 句中riding到street部分是现在分词结构作宾语补足语,I ever saw 是定语从句,修饰前面的saddle.catch sight of : see (especially suddenly or briefly)如:I turned round and caught sight of Helen getting into a taxi.

25、As we drove by the harbor(港口),we caught sight of a large steamship(轮船)。brand-new :(名词+形容词)completely and unused 崭新的;如:a brand-new machine/car.类似方法构成的复合形容词:carefree 无忧无虑的,lifelong 终生的,snow-white 白雪的,worldwide全球的For such a horse as that I would have given anything.该句的正常句序应该是:I would have given anythin

Why didn't you ask me?go on doing sth.: 不断地继续干某事go on to do sth.: 干完一件事之后继续干另一件事He went on ta
