4、erequisiteNoneCourse Description: This course is firstly designed to introduce to students practical knowledge and skills on public speaking. Students will learn how to select appropriate topics, research them, organize them and present them effectively in English. Furthermore, this course is planne

5、d to improve students intercultural competence in a comprehensive way. By analyzing the differences between Chinese and English on language, rhetorical, as well as communication styles, students will form a cross-cultural perspective on English learning. In addition, the instruction of cultural fact

6、ors in speech making will enhance students cross-cultural awareness. After learning this course, students are supposed to be more competent in handling different types of intercultural communications, such as making presentations in academic classrooms, or in business settings, offering guide to int

7、ernational tourists and addressing on various special public occasions.
