8、he food for the hungry children.我们为饥饿的孩子提供食物。provided是连词,意为“如果;假如”,后面经常接that引导的从句。provide, supply 与 offerprovide指为应付意外、紧急情况等作好充分准备而“提供;供给”。they provide us with all the books we need.他们为我们提供所需要的所有书籍。supply通常指定期供应或补充所需物品。常用于结构supply sb. with sth.或supply sth.to sb.。the cars will be supplied to people a

9、ll over the country.这些汽车将供应给全国各地的人们。offer侧重表示“愿意给予”。常用于结构 offer sb. sth.或 offer to do sth.。she offered me a cup of tea.她给我端了杯茶。2.since在此作连词,意为“既然;因为”,引导一个原因状语从句,放在句首。例句:since the earth is round, why do we not fall off?既然地球是圆的,那我们为什么掉不下去呢?since they dont have money,they cant buy a house.因为他们没有钱,他们买不起

10、房子。since作连词,还可意为“自以后”,引导含一般过去时态的从句,主句用完成时态;since作介词,意为“自以来;自从”,常用于现在完成时,后常接一个过去的时间点(如具体的年、月、日或钟点)或“一段时间+ ago”。例句:what have you been doing since i saw you last time? 自从我上次看到你以后,你在做什么?(since作连词)she has been ill since last sunday.自上个星期天以来,她一直在生病。(since作介词)3.the+比较级,the+比较级the+比较级,the+比较级意为“越,就越”。例句:the

11、 more,the better.越多越好。the harder you work,the better grades you will have.你学习越努力,你的成绩就越好。the more careful you are, the fewer mistakes you will make.你越仔细,犯的错误越少。“get/become+形容词比较级+and+形容词比较级”表示“变得越来越”,and连接同一个形容词的比较级。当表示“越来越”。形容词为多音节词或一些双音节词时,用“more and more+原级形式”。例句:it gets warmer and warmer when sp

12、ring comes.春天来了,天气变得越来越暖和了。our country becomes more and more beautiful.我们的国家变得越来越美丽。4.mindmind在句中作动词,意为“介意;反对”,一般用于否定句和疑问句中,不用于进行时和被动语态,其后可接名词、代词、动名词或that从句。例句:he didnt mind getting up early.他不介意早起。mind 作动词时多用于以下句型:(1)do you mind ?你介意吗?(2)do/would you mind if i?如果我你介意吗?例句:do you mind opening the win
