.(1)Chrysanthemum FairyChrysanthemum Fairy is a legend of a moving story in the beautiful Tong Xiang, Zhejiangthe hometown of Chrysanthemum.A long time ago,a farmer called Aniu(Bull)lived along the Grand Canal. His family was very poor,and his farther died when he was 7 years old. His mother and he lived by the Textile made by his mother. His mother cried so often that she was blind. Aniu worked hard when he was only 13 in order to cure his mothers eyes,but still failed.One night, Aniu dreamed of a pretty girl to help him grow vegetables, and told him:“Go along the canal, there is a white chrysanthemum in a garden,which can cure eye diseases. It only opens on Double Ninth Chung Yeung Festival,you can use this flower to make Decoction,then your mother will recover after she drinks the decoction.” On Chung Yeung Festival day, Aniu went to find white chrysanthemums with the dry food. After his mother had the decoction,her eyes became better and better.This story spread so far to eulogize his filial piety which were worth learning for all of us. If all of us have filial piety, we will live better. (2)Mogan Mountain Long long ago, there lived a couple. The man was named Gan Jiang and the woman was named Mo Ye. They were hardworking and brave, enthusiastic and kind. They loved each other deeply. One day, the king of the Wu asked them to molded two swords in three months. They started working in the daytime even in the evening. But the water was just boiling in the frunace but it did not aggmerate. Later, Mo Ye heard of that it needed the blood of the women to wielded the god of the frunace. So Mo Ye jumped into the ftunace without thinking in order to finished the task which the king asked. After a moment, the water began aggmerating. Gan Jiang was so sad at first. But finally he completed two swords. The two swords were named of these two persons. The male one was called “ Gan Jiang” and the female one was called “ Mo Ye”. Gan Jiang and Mo Ye molded the swords on the mountain, so the mountain was given the name of “ Mogan” by the posterity.(3)The legend of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai is set in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.Zhu Yingtai was a beautiful and intelligent young woman, the ninth child and only daughter of the wealthy noble Zhu family of Shangyu, Zhejiang. Breaking traditions that restricted females from going to school, she convinces her father to allow her to disguise herself as a young man and travels to Hangzhou to attend classes. During her journey, she meets Liang Shanbo, a scholar from Kuaiji (now known as Shaoxing), who lives in the same province as her. They chat and feel a strong affinity for each other at their first meeting. Hence, they gather some soil as incense and take the oath of fratenity in the pavilion of a thatched bridge.For the next three years in school, they share the same room where there is only one bed and two quilts. Zhu Yingtai falls in love with Liang Shanbo gradually. Although Liang equals Zhu in their studies, he is still a bookworm and fails to notice the feminine characteristics exhibited by his classmate.One day, Zhu Yingtai receives a letter from her father, asking her to return home as soon as possible. Zhu Yingtai has no choice but to pack her belongings immediately and bid Liang Shanbo farewell. However, in her heart, she has already confessed her love for Liang Shanbo and is determined to be with him for all eternity. Before her departure, she reveals her true identity to the headmasters wife and requests her to hand over a jade pendant to Liang Shanbo as a betrothal gift.Liang Shanbo accompanies his sworn brother for 18 miles to see her off. During the journey, Zhu Yingtai hints to Liang Shanbo that she is actually a woman. For example, she compares them to a pair of mandarin ducks (symbolic of lovers in Chinese culture) but Liang does not catch her hints and does not have even the slightest suspicion that his companion is a woman in disguise. Zhu Yingtai finally comes up with an idea and tells Liang that she will act as a matchmaker for him and her sister. Before they part, Zhu reminds Liang to visit her residence later so he can propose to marry her sister. Liang and Zhu reluctantly part ways at the pavilion where they first met.Months later, when Liang Shanbo visits Zhu Yingtai, he discovers that she is actually a woman. They are devoted to and passionate about each other and they make a vow of till death do us part. The joy of their reunion is short-lived as Zhus parents have already arranged for her to marry a man from a rich family called Ma Wencai. Liang Shanbo is heartbroken when he hears the news and his health gradually deteriorates until he becomes critically ill. He dies in office later as a county magistrate.On the day of Ma Wencai and Zhu Yingtais marriage, mysterious whirlwinds prevent the wedding procession from escorting the bride beyond Liang Shanbos grave, which lies along the journey. Zhu Yingtai leaves the procession to pay her respects to Liang Shanbo. She descends in bitter despair and begs for the grave to open up. Suddenly, the grave opens with a clap of thunder. Without further hesitation, Zhu Yingtai throws herself into the grave to join Liang Shanbo. Their spirits turn into a pair of beautiful butterflies and emerge from the grave. They fly together as a pair and are never to be separated again.(4)Peak Flying from AfarThe peaks name originates from a legend. it was said in the legend that when the India monk built this temple, he found the hill in front of the temple look exactly like a hill in India, which was Lingjiu Hill. He thought this hill must have flown from the India, so he named it Peak Flying from Afar.(5)The legend of PanguLong long ago, Queen had a earache and then removed a worm from her ear. She raised it in a plate, slowly it became a dog. The emperor named it Dragon Dog. At that time, the enemy violated the national territory, and the emperor searched for hero who can kill enemy leader .Then the hero could marry the third princesses as his wife. The dogs go to the enemy. When the enemies were drinking, it bit the leaders neck, and took the head to the emperor.Because of its a dog, the emperor would like to breach of the marriage engagement. And the dog said that put it into a golden box for seven days , he would to be a human-being. On the sixth day, the third princess was afraid of the dog starved to death. She opened the box and saw his body but no head. After marriage, they live for hunting and farming in mountains. And they had three sons and a daughter, the eldest son named Pan, the second son named blue, the third son named Lei, and the daughter married with someone named Zhong.(6)The White SnakeOnce upon a time on E-Mei mountain there lived two snake spirits, White Snake and Green Snake. These snakes, being magical, turned themselves into beautiful maidens and set off on a journey to the West Lake of Hang Zhou.When they arrived at West Lake they met a man named Xu Xian. White Snake quickly fell in love with Xu Xian and they were soon married. A Buddhist monk, named Fa Hai, warned Xu Xian of his wifes deceptive appearance and suggested to him a plan. On the day of the Dragon Boat Festival White Snake wished to stay home so as to avoid the Ay Tsao, used for protection from spirits, hanging on the doors of peoples houses. Her husband pre
