Buses in London are now also using coffee to get their engines going. British company, Biobean, has created a coffeebased biofuel(生物燃料) using coffee grounds. Workers first collect old coffee grounds from cafs, restaurants and instant coffee(速溶咖啡) factories. Then, they dry and process the grounds in their own factory to extract(提炼) the coffee oil. The extracted coffee oil is blended with other fuels to create the final product. The company has produced around six thousand liters of coffee oil which give enough fuel to power one bus for a year. According to Biobean, Londoners drink an average of 2. 3 cups of coffee a day, and this produces over 200,000 tons of coffee grounds a year.
