Moral Objectives (1) Help students to learn about the way of the present progressive tense(2) Learn how to cooperate with othersII. Important Points1. To learn some new words and phrases about what are you doing.2. To learn sentence patterns:How is the weather.Where is she/he?III. Difficult Points1. The way of using the present progressive tense2. Teaching ProceduresStep I Greetings and warming up (5min)T: Good morning, class.Ss:Good morning, teacher.T: Today, the weather is fine. So is our mood. Today we will study some new words about the weather ,can you tell me which seasons do you like?Ss:Summer/.winter /.spring/ autumnT: Can you tell me the reason?Ss: Because there are so many beautiful sights T: Then we will listen to a beautiful song sunshine in the rainStep II Learning the new words and text(14mins)Write some new words on the blackboard. Make sentences for students to memorizeThem. T: Before studying the text, we should learn some new words in this text. Look at the screen.Read after me. Pay attention to the Chinese meaning of each word. rain.Ss: rain.T: OK, all class, read them together. rain, begin. Ss:rain.T: Very good .let us look at the screen.there are some pictures .Do you know those cities?Ss: YesT: Those cities are very famous in the world.T: Then we will have some warming exercise,please finish it.Check the answer.T: There are two sentences ,please read after me :“Hows the weather . ? Whats the weather like .?”Ss : Hows the weather .?T: Teach the sentences Step III Guess game (8mins)T: Then we will have a guess game .I will show you some pictures ,then you guess what is the weather like in the pictures. Ss:Yes.T: Look at the first picture , what can you see?Ss: Snow.Step .Listening (7mins)1. Now lets look at the city names in the box in 1b. Please read after me. Ss read the cities after the teacher. 2. Now, Well hear four conversations. Listen carefully, point out each city in the picture as it comes upon the tape. Play the recording a second time. Ask Ss to write the name of the city in the picture of its weather. 3. Check the answers. Step . Pair work (8mins)1.T:If you are in one of the places in the picture above. Talk about the weather with your friends in another city on the phone. 2.This is a model, please read it together.T: Hows the weather in Beijing?S1: Its sunny. 3. Ss work in pairs.
