Educational objectives: By the end of the class, Ss should be able to: 1) know rules make the us and the world better. 2) follow the rules in out school as well as daily life. 3. Personal objectives: By the end of the class, I should be able to: 1) create the effective rules 2) create the rules that the students are more likely to follow Contents: 1. Vocabulary: words: rule, arrive, hallway, hall, dining, listen, fight, outside, wear phrases: on time, listen to 2. Sentence structures: 1) dont do sth. 2) must do sth. 3) can do sth. 4) cant do sth.3. 1a-2c: Go For It, Book 2, P 19-20Focal points:1. Remember some rules using “can, cant, dont, must”2. Make some rules using “can, cant, dont, must”Procedures and Time AllotmentStage 1 Getting students ready for learning (1 min) Greeting: T: Good morning! Welcome to Mr. Suns English class. I am your friend, Mr. Sun. Ss: Stage 2 leading in (3 mins)A video to tell us why we need rulesT: Today we are going to talk about rules. Before that, lets watch a funny videoSs: T: In this video, youll see some crazy students in NO 1 middle school.After you watch this video, please tell me what they do at school.Ss: T: OK, Lets go(After they watch the video)T: What do they do at school?Ss: T: Do you think they are really crazy?Ss: T: I dont think so. They just dont have school rules. Do you agree with me?Ss: T: Can we do the same thing like them? NoSs: T: Why? Ss: Because we have school rules!T: Lets see what rules we have. Lets check it out! Stage 3 Pre-listening and speaking (8 mins)Step 1 Vocabulary presentation Task 1 Presenting five pictures regarding the five school rules in 1aThe teacher should be able to lead the students to speak out the rules.The question he or she might use:Where is the student?What is the student doing?Can he or she do this here?Why he is here?What can we say to stop/help the student?In the end the students will say these five school rules. While the teacher is presenting the sentences, he or she might be able to emphasize the pronunciation of some new words. Just one by one or ask a student to each another student. The method varies according to the situation. Task 2Checking whether the students knows and can say the rulesAsking five volunteers to challenge themselves whether they know the fiver rules they just learnt after the five rules are in different orders without the meaning below.T: Here, we can see these rules. Lets read them together. Dont arrive late for school. One, two, go!Ss:T: Excellent! Do you remember them well?Lets have a try!(After several students try, the teacher should be able to draw a conclusion)T: If we want to be good students, We must follow the rules, and we cant break the rules.(emphasizing follow and break while saying the words on the screen to let them know the certain collocation.)Ss:tT Task 3: Final check on whether they know the words and sentences of the rules:T: We have very good rules in our school, as we can see. But some students still dont follow it. Lets find out what rules they break. Write the numbers next to the students.tTStage 4 Listening and game time (13 mins)Task 1: A certain situation to learn the basic rules:T: Peter, Amy and Mike are our classmates. They always break rules.We dont know who they are. But they are in this picture.Listen and find out who they are.Task 2A game to check whether they can ask and answer about the rules by using the sentence structure “what are the rules”T: Can you use the rules well?Ss:T: Well, lets play a game and well see.Ss:T: To play the game I need a student to help me. Who wants to help me?
