But starting this month, the new Xian-Chengdu high-speed railway will shorten this travel time to three hours. The 643-kilometer line is Chinas first high-speed railway to run through the Qinling Mountains, which form a natural boundary (分界线) between Chinas north and south. With a speed of 250 km per hour, its also the first mountain-heavy train line to provide a 4G network. Along the way, the train passes through two areas for rare (稀有) wild animals one for pandas and the other for crested ibises (朱鹮).To reduce the railways influence on the animals, workers and experts have designed and built the railway to be environmentally friendly. There were 345 wild pandas living in the Qinling Mountains. China currently has 1,864 wild pandas in total, according to the Xinhua News Agency. To avoid disturbing the pandas, the railway was designed to run through tunnels (隧道) within the area. Protective shields (防护屏) are placed near the entrance of each tunnel to stop animals from going in.To protect the thousands of crested ibises that fly near one part of the railway, protective nets have been set up to make sure the birds will not fly into a train. The nets are about 32 km long and 4 meters high. Experts tested different shapes and materials for building the nets before making their final choice.21. From this month, it will take _ to travel from Xian to Chengdu by the high speed train. As a single parent, I tried to do my best to talk to him. But the more I tried, the more he pulled away. When his report card arrived during his junior year, it said that he had been absent 95 times from classes. In this way he would never graduate. I sent him to the school adviser, and I even begged him. Nothing worked. One night I was at work when I got a phone call. A man introduced himself as a head teacher, “I want to talk to you about Karls absences (缺席).” Before he could say another word I choked up (硬咽), and said sadly, “I love my son. Ive tried everything to get Karl to go back to school and nothing has worked. Its out of my hands.” For a moment ,there was silence on the other end of the line. The head teacher seriously said, “Thank you for your time.”Karls next report card showed a marked improvement in his grades. He was even on the list of the best students at school. In his fourth year, I took part in a parent-teacher meeting. I noticed that his teachers were surprised at the way he had turned himself around. On our way home, he said, “Mum, remember that call from the head teacher last year?” I nodded. “That was me. I thought Id play a joke but I heard you said. All theme parks in Britain have cafes, restaurants, picnic areas and gift shops, so youll still have plenty to see and do when you and the kids have been on enough rides. There are usually smaller “funfair” rides and games as well, so younger children wont get bored. Several theme parks also have other attractions next to them, e.g. water parks often open all year round, unlike the theme parks.Whenever you are in Britain, theres likely to be a theme park within one or two hoursdrive, bus ride or train journey. Several theme parks even have accommodation (膳宿) so you can stay for a day for two if you want to make a trip into a short holiday.Prices for UK theme parks vary considerably; some have an entrance price which allows you to go on all the rides, while in others you have to pay for every ride individually. It can also make a difference whether you go during peak time or not. For example, tickets always cost more during school holidays and weekends than they do during the weekdays.Theme parks always get very busy during the summer months, so if you dont like crowds its usually a good idea to go earlier or later in the year!If youre thinking of visiting a UK theme park, its worth having a look for special offers on tickets. MynameisLiJin._ Thankyou!第二节 概要写作(满分25分) 阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要All sorts of items become litter(垃圾) but two of the most common and most dangerous are cigarette butts(烟头) and plastic bags. Litter is a big problem for our environment but it is a problem that individuals can easily do something about. Not littering at all or cleaning up litter, such as cigarette butts and plastic bags, greatly improves the quality of our environment. Although cigarette butts, are small, they are bad for the environment. Over 1,600 billion cigarettes are smoked each year in China and large quantities of the butts are thrown away. Worldwide, about 4. 5 trillion butts are littered every year. Apart from the fact that butts spoil the beauty of the environment, they contain some very toxic (有毒的) chemicals. These find their way into the water supply where they decrease the quality of the water and endanger plants and animals that live there. So, if people have to smoke, they shouldnt throw away the butts but put them in the rubbish bin instead. Plastic bags are another common form of litter that is a danger to the environment. There are several reasons for this. They are made from oil and gas, which are nonrenewable resources(资源). If they are not recycled(回收利用), these resources are lost to us. In China, 2 billion plastic bags are used every day. An enormous number of these become litter. This is a huge problem because they last from 20 to 1,000 years in the environment. They float easily in the air and water and travel long distances. They find their way to rivers, parks, beaches and oceans. Plastic bags kill up to one million seabirds, 100, 000 sea mammals and countless fish each year worldwide. It is up to people not to let plastic bags become litter. It would be better if they used fewer and recycled them. Cleaning up your cigarette butts and plastic bags would improve the environment. And we would know that we were doing something to look after our planet. However, I believe the best solution would be not to smoke or use plastic bags at all. 听力1-5CBCBA 6-10CABCA 11-15CBACB 16-20BAABC阅读21. C 22. B 23. A24. D 25. A 26. B27. D 28. B 29. A 30. B31. E 32.
