中文摘要 本文从小处着眼，但所反映的问题并不小。“矛盾修辞法”在传统的研究视野中 只是一个极为普通的修辞格，并末进入主流的研究视野。当代认知语言学向纵深方向 发展的大环境下，给了辞格研究新的生命。“隐喻”本是一个很普通的修辞格，但是 在认知语言学和其他相关语言学的启发下，隐喻成了人类认知世界的一种重要方式， 也成了人类语言普遍的构建机制。而“隐喻”在修辞上只不过是人类在语言中最突出 的表现。如果不是引入新的研究视角，“隐喻”仍旧是普通的修辞格。从这一点出发， 我们发现传统的辞格研究方法已经非常陈旧可以毫不夸张地说，修辞格的研究就其 学科的发展在现代学科发展的大背景已经山穷水尽，寸步难行也足以说明研究方法 和视野都存在很大的缺陷，因此更新研究方法，寻找新视野是历史和学科发展的必然。 隐喻研究的成功拯救了修辞格的研究，隐喻研究的同时，与此相关的“借喻”， “讽刺”等修辞格也在“隐喻”研究方法的启发下，也取得了累累硕果。我们发现在 辞格中有一种辞格与其他辞格存在较大的差别，却并没有引起研究者的注意。这个辞 格就是“矛盾修辞法”。这种辞格非常不同与“隐喻”和“讽刺”这类辞格。虽然这 类辞格在言语中出现的频率并不如前面两种的频率高，但是它是非常具有典型性的一 类辞格。或者说，我们明明知道“矛盾修辞格”明显违背语义同一性，违法简单的逻 辑性；但是我们还是接受了它，并且很多时候还很欣赏这种辞格，所以要解释清楚原 因不是一件容易的事，这是本文的出发点。 首先我们全面回顾了“矛盾修辞”的各种定义，以及它的分类和结构；这是研 究它的必要前提。然后我们从文学、美学、言语学、哲学和心理学的历史角度对“矛 盾修辞”研究进行了简要的综述，以此为我们的研究找到必要的历史和学科基础。我 们指出了文学或者光从辞格角度研究辞格已经无法适应时代的发展，必须更新视野， 为学术发展作出更多贡献，因此选择从语言学的角度去研究是时代的必然。 “知己知彼，百战不殆”。我们首先用语义分析法和语用上的合作原则剖析了“矛 盾修辞”的矛盾所在，为我们正面分析找到依据提供保证。以前我们只是感觉“矛盾 修辞”有问题，可是不知道到底怎么“矛盾”的。这样我们可以清晰得看出问题的所 在。接下来，我们从四个角度来分析如何理解不合理的“矛盾修辞”。之后，我们用 “心理空间”和“整合理论”来解释“矛盾修辞”的工作机制，为彻底理解“矛盾修 辞”找到坚实的基础 我们还从英汉对比的角度对比了英汉语中“矛盾修辞”的异同，以及如何翻译。 最后我们扩大视野，评述了修辞评估的语言学方法以及“矛盾修辞”在修辞中的地位， 最重要的是提出了。矛盾”在修辞格中具有重要的作用，可以看成是具有语义冲突
