21、orks which isolate intrinsically safe circuits from non-intrinsically safe circuits without galvanic isolation. The installation of safety barriers allows to use standard instrumentation and installation in the non-intrinsically safe circuit. However, voltages must not exceed 250 V. A major drawback

22、 of this safety barrier is its relatively high ohmic resistance which has to be considered for line compensation. Earth connection of intrinsically equipment under normal operating conditions is permitted. Different earth potentials will not cause measurement errors. The int

24、rinsically circuit and the measuring instrument can have different potentials.
